Yes, I considered that. is it a factor? yes. Lin is dinged right now. So is Parsons. And others.

would Lin have been playing if this were game 1 of the playoffs? yes

Would Lin have been playing if he weren't on the trade market? He would have played limited minutes tonight unless the game were close.

I don't expect Clutch to answer the question. Clutch very seldom opines. The vast majority of his posts are informational. I simply read the information and laughed and asked if he believed it.

Yes, I know all about Clutch being an insider, access to the locker room, etc.

Conspiracy theorist is not an accurate term. I'm a speculative theorist based on some degree of insider info and extensive knowledge about the league. I do have my own sources. Don't care if you believe that or not. But I do have my own connections. Inside the organization. And also around the league. People that see, talk to, and are around Morey practically every day he is in town. And other sources with connections to several other teams. Does Morey tell his own people everything? Nope. Does he feed them inaccurate information occasionally. Yep. Do things change at the last minute? Yep. So you can't even take insider info as gospel. That's not being a conspiracy theorist. It's just facts. Nobody covers their tracks better than Morey I don't believe. But every GM in the league tries to operate on somewhat the same scale of disguising their true intentions and talks. it's a huge poker game they are playing with each other and it is played through the media and through insider leaks. What's truly hilarious is when Morey goes on air and someone asks him about some rumor that leaked and he (along with other GMs) denies, laughs and then makes a statement along this line, "I don't know where all these crazy rumors come from......yadayadayada." The reason why that is so funny is 90% of the rumors come from NBA front offices. They plant rumors constantly to see where they'll go, who is talking to who, who they can trust, and to get other teams to come to the table. And then they all sit back and say they don't know how such crazy rumors get started. It's a huge poker game. You have to take all information leaks, media reports, etc. with a grain of salt.

I am speculating in another thread that Lin is going to be traded. I don't have absolute information on that. Because absolute info does not exist at the highest level. But I do have some information about it, information that I cannot divulge otherwise the chase would be on to figure out where the leak is. And based on that info and an understanding of the motive behind it, I am speculating that Morey already has a deal in place to trade Lin. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that Clutch already knows the same and more about the situation. But it would surprise me if Clutch ever verified anything beforehand.

So I asked him a question that I'd be somewhat surprised to get an answer to besides a generic, "Well, I don't have any reason not to believe it." That's all.

The team reported him as out due to back spasms. This was reported on Feigen's and Freidman's twitter.

The CBA prohibits anyone except people on the active roster the bench in uniform.

    http://www.nba.com/news/player_dress_code_051017.html

So, if Lin didn't pack a suit and sports coat, he just can't throw on a uniform and sit on the bench. The only way he's allowed on the bench in uniform is if he's listed as active.

Seriously are you dense? Do you not understand that lin had back spasms and therefore was unable to play?

It is really NOT that hard to fathom. You put Lin out there with a bad back you have him compensating for that injury and he could possibly re-injure his knee or pull a hammy.

Because he didn't play today he will have ample rest for the next game. And he will probably start at SG as i doubt James will play that night b/c of his ankle. (Shame as it is his action figure night)

The same guy who schooled a lot of you people on the "real" deal behind some of the trades like the Brooks acquisition?

You sound like this is a certainty. But what is your source to support this. Here in CF, seems like whenever a player not Harden, Howard, or Parson got injured or not playing, trade rumors will just go viral.

Next up is Dwight according to my Lin box. We must alert morey, we need to evacuate Dwight to katy.

Can't have our franchise center threatened by unseen action-figure dark magic.

Can you clarify where you get that info? On nba.com both Lin and Asik are listed as DNP - Coach's Decision

I understand the HOU PR team tweeted about it, but isn't there a protocol that list the player's official status before the game whether they are active or not? This should show on the league site no? If they are not listed as injured, then they are considered active and therefore can sit on the bench with player uniform right?

Do you have anything from the league source that shows official status that he was out with injury or inactive so he can not site on the bench with a player's uniform?

    Damn you may be right.

I think those action figures have actually given some evil people the means to use them as voodoo dolls in sadistic injury ritual, which has caused our players to become injured. Shame on the ROX organization for making these action figures in the first place.

    You mean like THIS report?

    http://espn.go.com/nba/injuries

As for the actual NBA report, that's done an hour or two prior to the game on a piece of paper where they list the actual roster. It's entirely up to the Coach what they want to list the reasons for not playing.

Once that paper is filled out and Lin isn't active, then he can't sit on the bench. Later on that is updated on the box score (though often not until mid way through or after the game).

You can't answer the question as to whether he would have played in any situation. Back spasms are at many different levels of pain. I'm just glad the injuries are just spasms and not a injured disk.

Thank you, that is pretty much what I was looking for.

So this means that the nba website is wrong or that the "DNP - Injury" status was updated after the game.

Strange that players that don't play can't sit on the bench with their uniforms on. Brewer and DMo does that all the time. :)

well, as the injury was new during GSW game as reported, unless Clutch is traveling with the team, I don't think at this moment he knows any better than any of us though.

DNP - Injury was updated either during the game or after the game. The NBA site may be slow to update. We don't know when they do the daily updates.

And while Dmo and Brewer are on the bench, typically they are listed as active. In other words, DNP - Coaches decision. They're on the active roster, just McHale/Sampson doesn't use them.

I appreciate the support. I'm going strictly off of what the coaches said and a text reply on the subject with the Rockets. I'm not there in Sacramento. I did raise an eyebrow when Sampson hinted that Jeremy could be out on Wednesday since that is a few days away still and I didn't think they would make that call based on back spasms, but I'm confident this back injury is really something Jeremy is going through, no matter what happens with the trade situation this week.

Last time I did that you told me I was crazy for saying we should draft Andre Drummond :)

anybody remember this play? when is that? In GSW games, Lin had three personal fouls, one was offensive foul against Marreese Speights in 1Q, then in 2Q shooting foul against Klay, and then the last one was in 3Q against Curry. There was no foul was called against Bogut though.....
