Question: Is there zero chance that Camby gets healthy before the playoffs? Anybody know what his status is?

More news... Cavs out of the running in the Omer Asik sweepstakes (I say that tongue and cheek of course)

I certainly hope all of this "strategic positioning" by Morey doesn't end up backfiring on him in the long run.

Best quotes of the whole article. Very telling and very true.

    So...

    the bucks are out
    the cavs are out
    the pelicans aren't even interested

    So who wants Asik again?

Hinkie needs to come through and do his boy Morey a solid.

because one has a center they hope doesn't break into a million pieces when they put him in against indiana and the other actually lets kendrick perkins play basketball? i'm not saying they'll trade for him, but he obviously could fill a role on either team (and especially for miami).

what twin towers would okc have? asik and ibaka? ibaka can drain 3's, it wouldn't be the same. okc likes to play small so asik would probably have a small role in okc, but there's certainly no conflict in terms of role. if you can get perkins on the court, you can get asik on the court.

and really, the main thing our experiment proved is that it doesn't work if one of the players is acting like a baby and basically quitting on the team.

When did our bleacher report contributor ban lapse?

I understand they have some ok writers on staff now, but their contributors are still complete garbage

    1. And he has a ring to show for it, whilst feeding Allen/Pierce/Garnett and Kendrick Perkins, who he MADE with his passes. He would Make Harden and Dwight a thousand times more efficient, and he would be THE leader of this team.

Again, 17-12-7 in 19 playoff games in 2012. Is that hollow?

(He might even be our best player)

Well if you think about it, "Strategic Positioning" is the reason we managed to get both Lin and Asik in the first place. The season before last everybody and their mother wanted us to sign Dragic to his extension right away, but Morey did his "strategic positioning" and after DH turned his nose up at us in FA everybody laughed and said DM the Wizard didn't know what he was doing.

This case is like the song by Eminem, we only got one shot to deal him, once you dealt him it is done. If we deal him for scraps then his stay with the Rox wasn't maximized, it's better to set the bar high and wait until somebody gets desperate. Who says we need to deal him by Dec 19? Omer? Lol we own his contract, if he wants his money then he better suck it up he has 15M reasons next year to play well for us. And in the worst case, then we do have a backup player until next year, and when he does leave then we have 8M capspace to sign somebody good.

What I'm saying is we only deal him if the offer is good, and not because we have to. Look at Orlando, they were so afraid of losing DH for nothing they accepted piles of turd for him and actually accepted more contracts instead of shedding them. On the other hand, Denver stood firm and got a king's ransom for Melo. Which is more valuable DH or Melo? Who got 2 amazing young prospects, cap relief and an unprotected draft pick for next year?

They are also tanking. No center = bad record, Bad record = high draft pick.

Take it from me, Morey can make you look real dumb, real fast. He's not going to pull in a mega haul, but I stand by my assertion he will get a nice asset, either a pick or a young player, who other general managers value. As crazy as it sounds, I think Morey would rather keep Asik on the roster (what a circus that would be) than trade him for a bag of pretzels. Keep in mind that most media chatter has an agenda behind it. I do find the tone humorous, the idea that Asik's value drops every day he isn't traded, before the 19th, is absurd.

And Melo isn't as desirable as Howard what does that have anythign to do with my post? The point is the Rox have all the leverage, they should maximize it until they get a good deal for Asik.

I get the feeling Morey wants expiring contracts and is trying to unload as much as salary to be in the position to go after a max free agent either this offseason or the next. That means unloading Asik and probably Lin.

Don't forget the Trob deal. At one point it sounds like nobody would trade anything to take it off our hands, and fans were praying for a very late first round pick.

It turns out Morey got the equivalent of four second round picks, and each of them is more or less as equally valuable as a late pick in a weak draft...

His pouting has done enough damage. If indeed he is appeased just because someone paid lip service to a trade then be prepared for some more half assing off the pine. Should he not be traded.
