Was that a 'letter bomb' in today's Chron? The entire Letters to the (sports) Editor' section was devoted to anti-Rudy/anti-player sentiments. Sure sounded like the 'editor' was going postal (while protecting beat writers?) on the current coaching staff, front office and underperforming players.
Oh ok, I mis-read. The "Letters" section? I thought you said some editor went postal and submitted an article with a bunch of anti-Rudy/anti-Rocket stuff. If it's just the fans... bleh. We get enough of that here.
The point is that the letters' editor seems to be sending a public message to Rox by virtue of what they chose to publish. It also seems to me they are 'protecting' the Rox' writers (Feigen et al) by going this route, 'with fans' bylines, so to speak.
I don't know about this. I think the reason they are publishing more anti Rudy/Rox letters is because thats mostly what they are recieving. I'm not saying that they aren't revieving pro Rudy/Rox letters but fans who want change are usually more vocal than those that don't, so I woulod guess thats the bulk of mail they are recieving.
So, the Chron (and other papers) weigh the Letters to and then publish on that basis? No, the Chron (and other papers) weigh in with their opinions then publish on that basis.
The chronicle is a crappy newspaper IMO. Trying to read the tea leaves from their letters sections ain't worth it.
Good. Send a message. The fans have a voice! And maybe, the Staff will incorporate an offense that doesn't resemble 4 guys standing around watching another guy go one-on-one! Sure, they are better than before. But how many times have we seen Yao go one-on-one and the other plays just stand around watching him? What about Francis? When Francis drives, players just watch. They don't have specific assignments where the pass can be made off the dribble. It almost seems like Rudy just lets the players just "wing-it" rather than creating an offense where Francis drives and players have specific positions/options where they are supposed to be located (receive the pass, or good position for missed shots/offensive rebounds). Sure, there is a lot of unpredictability in making "set-plays" successful, but it's a lot better than just running around clueless without *any* structure at all!
why is it when anyone says something bad about the rockets, people here always say that person has no credibility or the paper is crummy anyway? I guess the rockets can do no wrong and cant eb critizied by anyone. Go figure....
The paper may well be crummy, that isn't the point. The point is that the Chron chose to send a very public message. I applaud them that.
