Stop it, right now! Flagarant Foul - 2 shots, possession of the ball, and ejection from the GARM. Lin can't stay in front of a refrigerator!!

This kind of double standard is ridiculous.

You have to take 1 of 2 stances: (A) Either the Rockets need a workmanlike defense PG who won't take away touches from Harden, or (B) they need a more traditional PG with good playmaking skills.

People justify Beverley's status as a starter using (A), and they claim that this irrefutable fact means that Lin is ill-suited to be the starter.

But then when there's no "threat" of Lin being the starter, these people will quickly abandon their pet theory and jump to (B) when you dangle some shiny object like Rondo in front of them.

Which is it? Do the Rockets need a Mario Chalmers or a Rajon Rondo? People need to stop contradicting themselves.

Historically Bev has always been inconsistent with his 3pt shooting back from his college days to Europe to NBA. You'll be SURPRISED if you only trust your eyes in limited sample last season(half season as backup for Bev).

More likely he'll be shooting like this going forward with hot and cold streaks.

Clutch never like Lin, that's for sure.

LOF's need to understand that Lin isn't a great pairing with Harden in conventional line-ups, and that Harden >>> than Lin.

That is the key to understanding.

And you say that because? What negative things has Clutch said about Lin?
    I must have missed those.

is that why, statistically, the Rockets are better offensively AND defensively with Lin instead of Beverly this season? Lin is a different player this year than last year.

Bev's a one-man wrecking machine on D. He deserves to start.

Yet we still hear ridiculous ideas of how the Rockets need someone like Rajon Rondo, a playmaker who can't shoot.

If Beverley doesn't cut it but Lin shouldn't start, what kind of player would be a possible candidate for the starter spot?

Agreed. That's why we need a better option than Lin. Bev is great in a more limited role but he gets exposed when he plays heavy minutes like he's done this season.

The coaching staff clearly aren't high on Lin and after he kept getting burnt by Williams last night it's hard to disagree with them.

An above average PG who can play D, space the floor and create his own shot would be great. Dragic or Lowry would be ideal.

No - please re-read. I'm talking about pairings; specifically why Beverly-Harden pairings (which may, btw, include 3 guard lineups w/Lin)) are +4.7, while Lin-Harden pairings are only +1.7.

Let me guess - you're one of these dead-enders who thinks that Lin is better than Harden - and it's all just a big ol' waste.

The ball would be in Rondo's hands not Harden if he came here. Our late game execution would be a lot better with Rondo too.

I noticed in yesterday's game, Lillard and Williams pretty much used picks for their offense every single time except fast breaks.

Using picks for PNR or PNP is also Lin's bread and butter, but we simply don't run that most of the time. Our spread out and passing/cutting offense is designed to let wing players take advantage.

I love Lin advocates talking about "Sample size" when it comes to any other player. Mega irony.

please re-read. i'm not talking about "pairings." i'm talking about our team as a whole. our team as a whole has a better eFA with Lin in the lineup and holds our opponents to a lower eEFA, again, with Lin in the lineup over Beverly.
