EXACTLY, for the LOVE OF GOD, please with all these knee jerk threads. Bev is the engine that makes the starting unit goes, he does things that dont show up on the score board, a vital part to our team. People that dont know anything about basketball should just go and make their own fourm, no need for that crap here.

He apparently knows something about basketball. Although Bev has great hustle and I like him, there is no way he should be a starting point guard on any team in the NBA. I hope he continues to improve and gets to that point but he isn't there right now.

 

Give it a rest man. Let's just lay our cards on the table. I'm the biggest Bev fan there is and I want him to start and for Lin to be traded.

Bev starting has everything to do with getting Harden and Parson and to a less extent Howard even more touches. Bev plays great defense. But he starts so everything can run through Harden first an only. Harden will distribute the ball to Howard and to Parsons in that order.

Bev starting has nothing to do with Bev's defense or offense. You know it. I know it. This board knows and the whole basketball watching world knows.

Be as high or as low as you want to be on Bev and Lin but at least have the moral character to be intellectually honest.

 

And also Lin is not the 6th man

Lin is the back up shooting guard.

 

So you think it's obvious that Beverly should be starting and Lin shouldn't? That's an incredible stretch.

Lin's outperforming Beverly in just about every way, and yet Beverly still should definitely be the starter? People who know a ton about basketball can easily make persuasive arguments that Lin, and not Beverly should be starting.

Beverly is a good player, but from my perspective and my knowledge, Lin is clearly outperforming Beverly. So, the debate of whether Lin or Beverly should start is entirely legitimate. Be real.

 

True. Lin is treated so weird and so wrong in this team. Totally wasted. PB is not answer for starting PG.

 

Give me a break, I find it hard to believe Parsons, Harden and Howard would pressure McHale to bench Lin. Harden had no issues with Lin last season. why would he change now. Stop making it out to be some soap box garbage.

 

That's exactly what it is.

 

Why would they need to pressure McHale to do something McHale was inclined and wanted to do anyway. No pressure was needed. This plan is not new. And it didn't even start with Beverley. Originally Tony Douglas was the "3 and D" specialist. If you remember this time last year Sampson benched Lin in the 4 th against Portland. Tonight was almost a carbon copy. I'd they could have started TD then they would have but Lin made too much money. The coaches didn't get their chance until Lin got hurt in the playoffs and Bev played those games against Westbrook and RJ. Those 5 games gave the coaches just enough to make this change. It's in record that the starting PG switch was made way before Pre-season. Lin had even said as much.

The Rockets want to promote a narrative of Harden, Parsons and Howard as their big three. Lin complicates that. That's why Lin is on the bench. Bev's rebounds notwithstanding.

They are preparing to trade Lin. Every time Lin develops a rhythm they bench him.

I'm pretty sure he will be, but I haven't heard one rumor linking Lin to any trade.
