D-Mo should have gotten some run tonight. We needed another 7 footer presence out there. One that could shoot.

The bench really killed us, we didn't get any sort of spark or production from anyone. There are some positives to take away from everything and that is that we actually seem more cohesive, we only had 8 turnovers in a muddy game. Granted, it should have been more do to some really poor passes from Bev and Parsons to say the least. Parsons was pretty aggressive tonight and took it to the rim a lot but Lopez's size really disrupted his shot a great deal. Bev also needs to stop going for offensive rebounds when he doesn't have the angle to get it, as a guard he is the first line of defense, he needs to get back in transition first and foremost. James blew his coverage a good amount of times (his individual defense was pretty good overall though) and that caused so much mayhem on that end that Dwight was essentially put out to dry and that was killing us. Overall though, it wasn't that bad of a game. We could take some things and apply some easy fixes to quell those woes.

Lost because of coaching, system is being run very poorly.

We have all the talent to be a superior defensive and offensive team, we should of won that game. Execution is just terrible, and that's on the coaching staff.

Bev's defense is a myth like when we played Memphis o he shut Conley down meanwhile it was just Conley was wide open with no defender in front of him and missed jump shots called bad shooting night 2-14. I've watched it 3 times

If Asik and Lin accept their roles, the only thing we are missing is a lockdown swingman and a knockdown three point shooter. We pick up those guys and we are contenders this year.

Best thread all night. I agree 100%. He always cooked Portland and gave Aldridge nightmares.

The only lesson that this one regular season game provided is something that everyone already knew, that home court advantage will be essential in the playoffs.

And if the Rockets win their next game, they will be 16-8, and who can be unhappy with that considering the silly TT experiment probably cost them a couple of victories? Trying to keep Asik happy is the only reason the Rockets aren't neck and neck with the Spurs.

IMO you're right in a lot of points here. The one thing that I think is missing is that the Rockets essentially played without a backup centre against a team that knows how to utilize that. It is Clear that Casspi playing a center against a team like the Blazers can't be a very good option. That handicap will be easier for the Rockets against the Warriors.

Lmao Casspi with the random +7. He does seem to always come out with the highest +/- for some inexplicable reason.

Lets face it we have played all year with 8-9 man rotations seems like everyone has been hurt/sick. Losing Asik sucks. Sampson lost this one. WE need to get healthy and get our trade done so we can have a backup for Howard unless Smith does well

The reason the blazers won was because LMA and the rest of them hit some mammoth shots and some were just lucky. If we can get some bench output in the next meeting and they don't hit so many fluke shots, we can beat these guys in a seven game series. They have no one who can stop Harden and Howard.

Maybe he read the scouting report and he knows Conley has been cold from that spot for the last 10 games.

When is Greg Smith back? Long time until the 19th.

If people thought McHale made questionable decisions, Sampson is just a worse extension of that.
