Tonight he played a complete game though. He's more rounded than Harden. Kind of reminds me of Duncan.

I'm pretty sure the coaching staff/FO isn't sitting around masturbating to the thought of trading Lin or debating why/how rebounds are useless if grabbed by a guard instead of a F/C. I'd guess those are topics of discussion unique to CF.

How can a guy who only played 15 minutes be responsible for a loss? The point is he isn't.

Add Parsons who is a big part of the offense with some options for Jones and you have a very potent team. Stop with the Lin off the bench nonsense, put Beverley back in as the energy player he should be off the bench. Let Lin turnover the ball without fear of being benched and this team will be dynamite. But the ball has to move better with all 5 members, without too much reliance on Harden. He can do it sometimes, then Lin, but not do it too much and Lin should do it more.

He always plays well against us... one great game does not an MVP make. He's just a Rockets killer, which makes everyone in the GARM constantly overrate him since they don't watch any bball except the Rockets.

Rockets will win tomorrow or technically today. Excited to have Greg Smith back. Sucks it looks like Parsons will be hobbled all year, he has no explosion. I personally would like Lin to start, think it makes the Rockets offense dynamic and helps them outscore ppl which is what they do, but i respect the counter argument of starting Beverley and trying to be a better defensive team but I dont think the Rockets have that kind of personnel. Too bad Asik cant except his role, rockets need to replace him with a back up center but i'd wait to see with Greg Smith does first.

    Go Rockets

He's done what he needs to do. McHale has had him in this season when it mattered. He's coming off an injury tonight so we can throw tonight away and maybe even the next game or two. When he's back in form, if it was as before the injury, he plays. McHale has him in a role because there's no bench direction without him. That's what I see. There's no need to trade him. Just play him and put in practice that he is a playmaker who has higher usage than he currently has.

Beverly gets his rebounds by hustling. His job isn't to be a playmaker, he is there to defend and hustle. Going and getting a rebound and running the play are two different things.

Beverly has won us games with his rebounds. Beverly does not play the role of play maker and distributor, that is not his role. Parsons and Harden are the playmakers, Lin is the #1 option in the second unit.

I have played and coached, and I have never heard anyone complain that a guard is hustling on the boards.

He gets defensive rebounds finalize the defense stop, his offensive rebounds lead to EXTRA POSSESSIONS!

Your opinion is wrong and clearly fueled by a bias towards one player.

The reason we had a low assist number has nothing to do with Beverly on his own. His role is not to be Chris Paul, his job is to defend his position and give us hustle plays.

You got a point. Aldridge's offense is indeed overrated by CFs. His midrange shot is good, but his overall efficiency is not that good (career True shooting of .54, compared to Howard's elite level .6). Still, Aldridge can really bother PFs with his length and is quite effective on d.

Not sure how the Rockets can overcome Blazers and the Clippers.

What if you don't get your wish and he isn't traded? Then what? You're talking about a trade like it is bound to happen. What if it doesn't?

Yeah, not having a backup center is a big problem. It's too bad Asik can't/won't play. If he would accept a backup role, it would be so nice to have a defensive center every minute of the game. Our perimeter defenders basically all corral penetrators to our bigs, but without Dwight in there, it's pretty ugly. And we do not play the PnR very well at all, whoever is out there. There doesn't seem to be a clear idea on how it's going to be defended and how we're going to rotate if it breaks down.

Geez, the PGs didn't win or lose the game tonight, the Coaching staff did.
There were poor substitutions, even weird ones at times. They let mismatches happened much longer than needed, especially in the 4th quarter. Then they mostly abandoned the Post game most of the 4th, on a night when Howard was dominant.

Abandoning the post game was most infuriating. When we executed post game, it became a half court game with slower pace, and reduces the fast transitions that Portland is really good at. Rox is good at fast pace too, but Portland is really NOT good at half court games.
