Please tell me why the owner a businessman would trade Lin?

$$$$ in marketing and extra fans internationally.

China is the second biggest economy in the world.

So? You say that as if the Lakers are actually any good this year?

lol you guys have such a hard-on for parsons. it should be durant, love and LMA. i know i said duncan in my previous post, but if it's three frontcourt players, why not have three forwards. a trailblazer should be starting - they're 1st in the west.

LOL...what's worse is that if Lin's fans like me didn't vote for Parsons, Asik, Howard, and Harden.......their votes would have been much lower. Seriously, would Parsons or Asik even gotten much votes if they weren't in Houston with Lin?:)

my point was, if Kobe is going to start in the All Star game playing for a crappy team, Love shouldn't be dismissed because he's on a .500 team. And if part of the criteria is playing on a good team, then LMA should be starting no question.

voting massively on the internet. you can't do that anymore. People will try to "game" it. and succeed. Just like Snowden was voted as Time Person of the Year, but Time shut that down before it got out of control.

Also, this tally clearly contradicts the notion that one race will vote one way....Lin would have been a runaway vote if that was the case. He'll be a sure in if he gets better, Asian fans will not just vote him in because he's Asian...the man needs to prove himself on the court.

    so what? FANS are voting.

and no it's not insulting. lin has a VERY LARGE fan base. harden doesn't. got it now? maybe harden should go out and make some more fans instead of going to night clubs and strip clubs.

...& his team is 10th in the West, lucky to be a .500 team.

Man, Houston have fans of all colors (Pun). Votes are pretty even.

He is right though. Lin either has more fans or more devoted fans than Harden.

Well, yes. I'm referring to the "stay out of the nightclub and strip clubs" portion of the comment.

There's nothing insulting about this. All Star game is by design a popularity contest. If more fans want to see Lin in the game than Harden, than Lin deserves to be in the game more. If more fans want to see Kobe instead of Harden, than Kobe deserves to be in the All Star game,, doesn't matter if he's injured all year. So what the Asian fans want to see an Asian player in the game? It's no different than Houston fans voting for Rocket's players no matter if they "deserve" it or not.

This is not the All NBA team, it's not about who's better it's who's more popular.

Don't laugh. If Harden actually plays better defense, he will get more votes

It would be interesting to see total votes based on country.

What the numbers really show is that basketball all-star voting is not very high on anyone's agendas.

From the list shown (yes there are more since the outliers are not shown), the total submissions per day works out to roughly 50K. If you divide this by the number of teams, it works out to roughly 1750 submissions per day per team. Tells me a lot of people just don't give a damn when it comes to voting.
