Harden and Dwight will bring Parson and Lin with them. 7 mins of the game you will see them all four along with Aldridge.
Lol money is irrelevant to a businessman ? If you have a player who is massively popular in Asia and his a decent player you keep him. Business is Asia is about networks relationships please see Yao.
The Rockets make as much money as the Kings due to Lin being popular in Asia. This is the concept of revenue sharing. Whether Lin plays for the Rockets or the Bucks, Les sees the same numbers when league revenues are split. Les makes ZERO dollars from Lin being popular anywhere except China (mainland, not Taiwan). This is because Les has made investments in China through Yao. And he profits from the Rockets brand in China. So to Les, which is what really matters to the Rockets, Lin's money making ability is only tied to his popularity in China, and only in specific instances that it's tied to Les' investments in China. Of course, these investments are private, so no one know what they are. And how much money Les really makes. As someone currently living in China though, I can tell you that Yao is thousands times more popular than Lin. It's not even close. If Yao made Les 10mil/yr back when he was playing, Lin makes at most 100k. Yao got Shane Battier and Chuck Hayes to get big shoe deals and appear on tons of commercials in China. Comparing Lin's marketability in China with Yao is like comparing Lin's American marketability with Jordan.
If he gets traded to an eastern conference team where he can start he can make it. He'll put up the numbers and he'll have the popularity. He could even be one of the best point guards in the east with Rose and Rondo being out and D-Will in and out and not playing well. He'll have a better chance of battling it out with Walker and Kyrie than he will over here in the west with CP3, Westbrook, Parker, and Curry.
It would annoy the hell out of me if he was voted in somehow. His play doesn't warrant consideration, and like other posters mentioned, it is incredibly insulting to CP3, Tony, Westbrook, etc... Shoot, even Dwill would be insulted and he isn't having a good year. There are 3 guys on our roster that should be considered, but maybe not chosen: 1.James 2.Dwight 3.Chandler I think James and Dwight make it with ease, but Chandler doesn't have the fan base yet. His numbers in many games are at All-Star levels but he doesn't get the recognition he deserves from the rest of the league.
are you serious with Parsons? i know most of the guys on this board have a man-crush on Parsons, but seriously, considering all of the SFs in the west, you really think Parsons is even in the top 10? and remember for the all-star game it's the top 3 front court players that get voted in, so you really think out of all the front court players in the west, chandler's even in the top 25? i'm not even going to bother with a list, too many names.
Check the stats and the team record. His team is better and his stats are almost the same. He's the best SG in the West.
There is an obvious effect, but it is not like Lin has the same Chinese following that Yao did (Yao was from China). They will get him in the top 10, maybe top 5 in guards, but not a top 2 spot.
Before Lin's injury Lin was playing better than Parsons. What about the wins in the beginning when Parsons was building a brick house and Lin was shooting 45% from 3? If Parsons is considered, Lin should be too.
This is the All-Star ballot from last year 2013: http://www.basketball-reference.com/allstar/NBA_2013_voting.html 1. Kobe Bryant 1,591,437 2. Chris Paul 929,155 3. Jeremy Lin 883,809 4. James Harden 485,986 5. Russell Westbrook 376,411 Questioning Lin's fans base? Open All-Star's facebook page and navigate it yourself. There are no doubt that Lin will lock as starter this year whether you like it or not. There is a reason they name the game as "All-Star" and not "Selected-Star" nor "Skill-Star" nor "American-Only-Star".
