Yao was the best big man in the game. He was the best post player almost every year from his second season and onwards. The man was a monster in there. He deserved every single vote and the factb is that injuries robbed him of a HOF career.

Wait forgive my ignorance but I've never heard of 'offline' voting?

Money is irrelevant. If a team wins, they'll sell more tickets, merchandise etc anyways. Whether Lin stays or leaves will be based on basketball reasons.

Paper ballot you get while attending games. Much more important back when the internet didn't exist or wasn't as common.

Personally, I'm a huge Yao fan, one of my all-time favority players. And it makes me mad everytime people always mention Howard as the best center since Shaq cuz though I like Howard, I do not think he is as good as yao was. Yao was the dominant center every year he was voted in.
The point I was just talking about was the infection of Yao's popularity into his teammate. I mean, our role players during the t-mac/yao era were usually in the top 5-7 at some point during the voting process, it was just ridiculous.

Just think of it like this, if your son played for UH you would care about going to games but if your second cousins son plays for UH maybe you don't care as much. Maybe even your second cousin got divorced and his son lived in another state. Or maybe you're even a little jealous because every time you talk to your second cousin he brags about his son.

Yao is China's Son. They love him. They lose sleep to watch his games. They go online and hack the NBA voting system. Lin is a distant third cousin not even born in an Asian country. He's okay. Maybe they will vote for him if he's almost an all star, if they get a chance. Not the same thing.

What Yao and Tmac were doing was sublime with the collection of C grade talent surrounding them .Once we actually got them the real talent Tmac's gaveout. When Yao and tmac played together with had a 60 plus % winning record. It's a shame at what could have been.

oh cry me a river.. it's a freakin' popularity contest based on a game. it's not some big injustice being done to paul and parker. they'll still get their all-nba first team/second team votes and that's what really matters in terms of respect.

if the all-star game is today, would you be crying about it if harden got voted in based on his play so far this season? and don't tell me that this season, so far, he has played like an undisputed all-star, because he hasn't.

I dont think most rockets fan understand....

He has more fans than the Rockets or any current individual Rocket play EVER WILL.

Does that mean his contract is too much in terms of his actual abilities? YES

Does that mean his abilities are not worth the money that the Rockets or the NBA is paying him? NO & NO.

Is that unfair? You better believe it... Money/Success has nothing to do with how much money you can make for who ever you are working for. This is the American dream for a company, to pay the person with the maximum value of what they're worth, while making the most amount of money off of them.

The situation is completely and totally American. Taking advantage of people.
So don't hate. Bev is also being used in the same degree, except that they cant abuse him nearly as much..because his value publ-icly ,(or pubic hair wise) is not nearly as valuable.

The fact is... the highest rated money maker is not BEV. It's LIN.

So for all those dummies thinking bev is a better value, ....OK... We all know you're dumb as FGGGK.

Before calling other dumb, you may want to check into this thing called "revenue sharing." And then reflect back on your own stupidity.

Thats a good argument... But the fact that houston is probably barely in the TOP 10 in terms of Market Value... as a PG in terms of $$$ wise.... he's probably top 5.

Do you disagree. I hope so... because you are MEH~~

i live in korea and i can tell you koreans dont care about lin. most have no idea who he is. koreans follow korean athletes like ryu on the dodgers or yuna kim the gold medalist figure skater. only the most avid nba fans know who lin is and they still tend to be more fans of kobe and lebron.

korean-americans seem to be fans of lin. i think this is a product of the western phenomenon of grouping all asians together. as a korean-american this makes me sad. but we're not the only ones who Americans do this to. according to most americans, all europeans are the same, all africans are the same, and all hispanics are the same.

i said "most" not "all" so relax educated white dude, i know there are a few of you out there.

If McHale was the coach for Yao, Yao would never get any minutes after the first start. He will be deep in the bench as the bench warmer.

I could see this happening if Lin was playing in the East. The West is too stacked.
