Any good team needs two playmakers. As much important as Parsons to this team, he's not a playmaker who can drive and create for himself and others. If we flip Lin for another decent playmaker, it's ok, but the problem is that it has be a PG, we are set in other positions(and Bev/AB prob will be the weakest PG combo among all playoff team), then the new playmaking PG would be overlapped with Harden again.

Besides Lin has improved a lot on playing off ball and score efficiently, while still make plays when needed, the list of PGs who can do that with a less price tag is very shot, most of them is untouchable.

By "go so overboard," I mean making hundreds and hundreds of posts pontificating on how awful and useless the franchise player is, and all of the alleged reasons the team would be better off without him. Reading this board sometimes, you'd never know we were having a really great season so far.

Please, enlighten me. What is Bevs trade value? You keep posting about this. And when hes with this team at the end of the year will you admit how dumb this theory is?

Either sarcasm OR the dumbest comment about Harden I've seen on Clutchfans (and that would be really saying something).

I honestly do think there are a great number of people who would prefer the underlined.

You don't have to tell me. My 2 favorite players on the team are Harden and Lin. Both of those guys get a little too much criticism in my opinion but it is the nature of a public message board.

You are obviously a new basketball fan, or a new internet user.

SF3, Yao, t-mac, Kmart. What Harden is getting now is nothing. The only franchise player the rockets Ever had exampt from internet bashing, is a nigerian gentleman who brought 2 rings to the city.

Todays forum is basically the same as it was since Yao got here. All you had to do is switch the names in the thread titles.

Although, I got to say, today's forum is not nearly as fun as the Yao days. The thread titles might be the same, but the ambience was way way better back then.

I miss the game threads reaching like 39 pages, 3 days before the game. And unable to get in the chat rooms because it was full. And the server crashes after big games. I mean, we had people here analyzing individual play sets with screen captures.

    Sura faints.

Warriors forum is really, really brutal. lol. I went on warriorsworld one day recently and there was just incessant bashing on every player except Curry and Iggy. I would put them on par with CF when it comes to knee jerk comments.

Gotta love this thread. We lost 2 games without Lin so this whole thread is garbage. Also, we won 3 in a row when Harden sat out at the end of November. Maybe we don't need him…

Or perhaps new to posting on fan forums. ;)

If we were having the season the Knicks are having, I'd probably be pretty ranty myself. But if this is how it is when things are going this well, I'd hate to see it when we hit the skids.

We don't become fans so we can sit like a robot watching the game. It is an emotional relationship. People are just letting their frustrations out and that will happen in every sports forum including here especially after bad loses.

They are so panicky right now lol. I can laugh at it from the outside looking in, but I guess we do the same here after a loss. One of my best friends is a Warriors fan, and he is totally convinced that they are a crap team headed for the lottery based on the last few games. LOL.

lol I can see that, I mean their team is supposed to be really good this year so it's understandable. Imagine the knicks - they are hanging themselves. I think the fans have given up a long time ago though - lost all hope. The franchise is used to it.

Lol seriously? I've barely seen any posts saying he's "awful" and "useless." I do agree Harden is unnecessarily criticized by a select few people, but it's not even close to being as excessive as you say. Besides, I see the same amount of stuff with Lin too. I just think people on both sides need to chill out. I know you're a good and intelligent poster so I don't know why you keep going back and forth with these guys.

But seriously, it shocks me how much people post on here just going back and forth about a useless topic. Some only been here for a couple of months yet have thousands of posts, probably because of these never-ending debates . I agree I've been a part of some of these discussions too, but it's nothing compared to some of these people.

We have a successful team thus far, and one of our core guys is coming back from injury. All this pointless debating from both sides is just getting purposeless. I thought I was on Cfans a little too much, but man some of you guys make it feel like that's nothing. I don't even get how you guys have the time (not to mention the energy) in the first place to do this back and forth lol.

not a true accurate measure because there's too many dynamics but simple scaling:

harden shoots 16.4 shots per game. lin 9.7 shots per game. that means he makes 8.25 shots per game.

harden shoots 6.4 threes per game for a .390 percent of shots taking. lin shoots 3.7 threes to 9.7 total for .381 percent. therefore, at 16.4 shots he would take 6.26 threes and at .390 he would make 2.44.

free throws are tricky but lets go with the free throws per shots attempted. harden takes 9.1 free throws per 16.4 shots for a .555 free throws per shot. lin takes 5.1 free throws per 9.7 shots for a .526 free throws per shot. therefore, at 16.4 shots per game, lin would shoot 8.6 shots. at .805 free throw shooter, lin would make 6.9 free throws per game.

so at 16.4 shots per game, lin would average approximately:

    8.25 * 2 + 2.44 + 6.9 = 25.84 points per game.

does that answer your point? of course this does not mean lin would actually perform at this level but he potentially could. they are similar players but different body styles meaning harden can take a bit more punishment than lin but the stats don't lie.
