You've said this several times. BBAAB also mentioned that Brooks was signed in case they traded Lin.

It makes me think that though Lin might not be traded, he is definitely getting shopped.

I think what's also understated is how we actually played San Antonio defensively. Beverley got no help whatsoever except for Dwight at the rim, both our wings were generally stuck to theirs taking away the 3 point shots. Of course Tony Parker is going to score a lot, as we constructed a situation where he couldn't kick it out, but had to take the shot himself.

This wasn't even unique to this game, Beverley receives very little help from the other wings by design, whilst Harden has certainly had his moments of absolutely abysmally poor defense, there's a lot of their cute little Haren and Parsons sucks at D because they have to hedge across on Lin's man because he's not trusted to corral his man which then gets credited to them when they late close out on their man because of it. Golden State was another great example, Bev received basically no help on his man, instead Harden and Parsons kept their guys locked up. When they tried to extend the same strategy to Brooks (like they did against San Antonio), all hell breaks loose and Curry is scoring at will.

I don't think you're biased or have some grudge against Lin. You just are overly confident in your own opinions, and have no desire to change them even with evidence to the contrary. For example, in this very post, your characterization of Lin is completely backwards; Lin is a good defender and a subpar ball handler, not vice versa.

I've accepted that team/help defense is a foreign concept to many. The number of people who legitimately believe man-to-man defense (on its own) can shut down an opposing player is alarming.

I'm not here to say Bevs defense has been good this year, but you are absolutely dead wrong about this particular game.

ANY coach would be thrilled with holding the opposing teams best scorer to 1 point per shot attempt, especially if they chuck up 20+ shots. Elite players like Parker score so much more efficiently than that on average.

You should just be honest here like you are on the RealGM forums and say how you really feel about Lin; that he's, "the most popular scrub player in the league".

Here is my take on Lin - he's pretty much average in all facets of the game, except he is a great attacker. He always looks for his teammates and he has worked on his jumper. I don't see anything "subpar" in his game. He is well rounded. The team benefits from his presence.

I think he is a bit overpaid. But it doesn't hurt the team in any way. He gets unreasonably thrashed as a result of having too many fans, which I think is a really sad state of affairs.

Good news. If he can give us 10-15 solid minutes, I will be satisfied.

His schtick is pretty tired. Funny thing is he is EXACTLY the counterpart to the most extreme LOFs that he pretends to battle. Obsession with one player. Propping up mediocre players to bash another. Citing single game performances or small slices of data. Lack of basketball knowledge.

You disguise your "reasonable" assessment of Lin with no factual basis. There is no statistical data point that suggests that Lin did not fit well with the starting unit. There is no statistical data point that suggests Lin has defensive issues relative to any of our other guards. The one fair criticism Lin receives is he is turnover prone. Lin is by far the best point guard this team has by a rather significant margin. If you feel oppressed by a bunch of random people praising Lin on a damn message board, re-evaluate your life. I care how well the Rockets are doing not the state of affairs of this message board. An abundance of Lin fans is not going to change my perception of him unlike you who is all p***y hurt because he has a lot of dedicated fans. Deal with it.

Here is a fact supported by statistical evidence: He was benched.

    That isn't statistical evidence.
Why was he benched? Of course you would say that he doesn't fit well in the starting line up. I would say that the bench unit needed a play maker. This team had an amazing offense with Lin as a starter.

In this you clearly agree with all the Lin fans who were upset by the benching.
