A rebuilding team like Philly is not giving up any 1st round pick period for Asik, especially when they have a player with a similar play-style as part of their future (Noel).
Pachulia is injured for the Bucks..dunno if it solidifies Asik goin to them...also monitoring other teams..Biyombo and Taylor not playing for the Bobcats...hmmmm
Just throwing it out there for the sake of discussion. All of these suggestions are us just throwing **** at a wall and maybe one of us gets lucky and it turns out. Lakers get: Kyle Lowry Raptors get: Nash, Asik Rockets get: Patterson, Ross Lakers do it so Kobe is the only contracted player next year. Raptors get it because I think they are dumb enough to get Nash for the 'hero comes home' factor. Rockets do it to get a back-up 4/5 who can stretch the floor and be a stronger big off of the bench.
Bucks would do Asik for Ilyasova very likely but I just don't see Morey doing that. So many possible trade partners Hawks, Sixers, Raptors, Bulls, Celtics...Morey will likely construct the first 5 team trade in NBA history.
I think Bucks would and have already agreed to Lin for Ilyasova. And I think the Bucks would love to have Asik in the middle with Henson at the 4 and trade Sanders away.
So about the rumors of trade talk of Rondo for Asik, Lin and some other Rocket assets. The issue seemed like it was a stupid idea in the past but now I'm hearing that the Celtics are actually interested. They are doing well lately again and going into rebuild mode. What truths are there to these rumors? As a Lin fan, I've come to greatly love the Rockets and their players. Because of Lin I still keep up with New York games. And I surely will continue following Rockets and root for them even if Lin gets traded. I just hope Lin doesn't become one of those players that become traded into obscurity from the NBA world.
Why would think that? IMO, Lin is a proven NBA player of starting quality caliber. In the game of life, he has already won. Big.
The great Pat Riley did the first 5 team trade in 2005 involved Heat, Celtics, Jazz, Hornets and Grizzlies ... Heat get Jason Williams, James Posey, Anthony Walker and some odds I'm afraid Daryl don't have enough time to get good return...
Didn't Lowry throw a tantrum about McHale and Morey shipped him to Siberia....erhh, I mean Toronto? No way on earth he ends up back in a Rox uni with McHale still at the helm.
Only assets we are instrested in Bucks are John Henson & 2014 1st pick, but I don't see they will give up either of them. Hope they won't tank and give Ekpe Udoh, Gary Neal and 2014 's top 3 protected pick to get Asik back, although it is very unlikely.
Omer Asik = Ekpe Udoh + Giannis Antetokounmpo + Buck's 2014 2nd pick (32# current) + another 2nd pick or Omer Asik = Ekpe Udoh + Giannis Antetokounmpo + lottery protected pick any way we get it?
The Bucks won't give up the Greek Freak for Asik, he's a fan favorite and the Bucks see him as a potential foundational piece.
Guys there are words buzzing around that Morey is targeting Ersan but hes having a hard time convincing the bucks but I would love for him to come here. THe reason why he sucks right now compared to last year is because last year he was playing with penetration guards that would kick it out to him (ex. Monte Ellis) but now hes not doing so well. We have Harden, Lin penetrating slicing the defense. Ersan will spread the floor for Dwight and run the high pick and roll with Harden. I feel that T.Jones will diminish if he comes off the bench, so we put Ersan on the bench with Jeremy. Now we have a starting 5 Chandler Harden Jones Howard bev backup 5 Lin Ersan casspi garcia greg smith/brook
hmm...i hope it would go down soon...but knowing morey, he makes a deal the least we are expecting...so, greg monroe comes into my mind..just a wild guess.
Danny Granger, anyone? He appears to be close to a return, but the Pacers certainly don't need him. Furthermore, I don't see what we could offer to entice the Pacers (potentially Lin?), thus a third team would probably have to be involved. Granger's size and scoring ability would make him a versatile option for us though and I would love to see him in our 2nd unit...thoughts?
The Asik trade window was set between 15th and 19th. I would understand it in the context that the Asik trade involves somebody from the other side or the Rockets side who cannot be traded before the 15th. Otherwise there would not have been any reason to set the 15th Dec as the earliest date.
