Wasn't this discussion had and someone pointed out that Beverley was placed at a disadvantage in how RAPMs are calculated because he's a rookie? I'm just getting annoyed that every time someone criticizes Lin, someone has to get thrown under the bus. If someone says Beverley is an offensive liability. My first retort isn't going to be "well his offensive RAPM is better than Lin." What does that have to do with it.
I think everyone agrees that Beverley is a good defender, it's not so much denigrating Bev as it is showing that according to this measure Lin isn't completely hopeless defensively, but I get your point

so whats your take when Lin is being thrown under the bus like this thread? this thread is not about criticizing Lin,but it's about his value to the team... if you start questioning the value of ones player, especially a straight up, hard working guy like lin, then you will get a lot of bad responses... same goes to any hard working rocket player...

Yea right. When Harden is not playing, the Rockets are 3-1 or 0.75 winning percentage. When Lin is not playing, they are 4-2 so far with a 0.67 winning percentage. Any reason why important player like Harden was not missed much?

Lin's a bad defender, Brooks is a terrible defender, so we lose a little there. Lin's a good scorer, Brooks is an ok scorer, so we lose a little there, both are decent playmakers, so while we lose some there, it's not the end of the world. Chandler on the other hand is basically superior to Garcia at everything and in some ways, by a very long way, meanwhile Garcia is better than his non existent backup, the drop off on both ends is enormous. It's really about the sum game, not so much the individual talent.

Are you seriously going to argue that Lin is more important then Harden?. We smashed the Warriors, beat the Spurs in San Antonio without lin. Not to mention in Memphis.
