Teams almost always respond when they lose an important player for a short time. The players tasked with making up for the injured player's projection are almost always more aggressive.
Beside the small sample not worth mentioning, ever heard of something call cumulative effect? Missing Lin might be a blow that the Rockets can absorb. Missing both Lin and Parsons might be a bit much. Either that or the Rockets played lousy on the two loses, which does happen through the course of a 82 games season.
Aaron Brooks in his last 5 games with Lin out is averaging 8.6 ppg on 34.7% shooting. Unlike what LosPollosHermanos thinks, Brooks is not a solid replacement for Lin. The Rockets winning games without Lin is a sign that our team is ****ing awesome and with Lin back it will be more awesome. Nothing more to be said.
The thing is Brooks can't play for extended periods with Harden because he is a defensive liability. That's why Bev has had to log 40 minute games lately.
Lin and Parsons and Asik out? Rockets are not competitive. Sorry. It is yet to be seen how the Rockets would fare with just Parsons out. And nitwit of course the Rockets missed Lin. Duh.
No, he's not. He's actually an average defender and does not get the credit he deserves defensively. His help defense in particular is one of his strong points.
He is no where near a "bad defender". He is merely average. Lin at the very least has decent size at the pg position to defend. Brooks will almost always be overpowered as he is one of the smallest players in the league. Regardless Brooks has had a couple of hot games, otherwise he has sucked major dick. I can point to statistical evidence to back up my claim. I would much rather have Lin's 16ppg on 50+% shooting and 5apg night in and night out than what ever Brooks is putting up.
He helps too much. So does Bev. Other than that I don't see how he is a defensive liability? Do you have statistical evidence?
Our Perimeter D until recently has sucked dick regardless of weather Lin plays or not. It has to do with how our perimeter defense helps WAY TOO MUCH and Harden ball watching. Harden has picked it up recently so lets hope that continues.
Odd. Do you have any facts to back up that bold statement? I thought not. xRAPM says you are wrong. xRAPM, the best advanced metric available to fans, says that Lin is a better defender than Bev. Sorry guy.
