lol, if you want to pay full price for the concert then leave before it's half finished, that's your M.O., I wouldn't brag about it though...
I paid for Jay Z and won't be leaving. I received these suite tickets free from the firm who handles our families finances. They give away tickets to every concert at TC to anyone who requests them, I just didn't want to seem greedy and ask for both shows, so no loss on my part.
I don't think I'm going anymore. Kanye is a raging lunatic and there have been bad reviews of his recent shows. I would have more been going to see Kendrick anyway, since I missed him last time he came to Reliant Arena.
Was thinking about going but seeing the setlist....f*** that noise. And saw Kendrick put on a dope ass show at ACL.
I'm really hoping for a great show and something different from the other cities considering we're the last stop on the tour. Even if it's bringing out some Houston artists.
Have fun. I've heard nothing but ****ty reviews of the show and the set list. I saw him with HOVA, I sure as hell wouldn't wanna sit through this crappy tour and listen to him whine the entire show.
Just got my tickets! As one of the few on here who liked his new album, I'm not offput by the Yeezus-heavy setlist. I saw him on the Glow in the Dark tour, so I'm hoping to hear more newer stuff and not just the "greatest hits."
Hardly. WTT was better and Glow in the Dark tour trumps this no question. Still a fun concert though.
I felt the presentation on the Yeezus tour was much better than Glow in the Dark. I enjoyed Glow in the Dark, but it felt like I was watching a concert DVD, with Kanye doing bad theatre between songs and almost zero crowd interaction. Yeezus was probably even more meticulously planned out, but the experience and Kanye's performance felt rawer and more immediate. The Yeez-ified versions of older songs were great and Kanye having his DJs/backup musicians on stage with him was a nice touch. One caveat, I'm a big fan of Kanye's later work (Yeezus, Cruel Summer, MBDTF), and I was hoping to hear mostly new stuff. If that's not the case, I could see not enjoying the Yeezus show as much. Your comment about him needing to talk less and rap more seems a bit off-base. I can only remember him going into extended monologues twice, one about his mom dying and the "rant." The rant did get a little long (though I found it amusing, plus I kind of agree with him), but it was really only about 10 minutes of a two-and-a-half hour show, where he did like 25-30 songs.
I've been to a WHOLE lot of concerts and this was easily one of the best ones I've been to. I LOVED the WTT show but honestly I might have liked this better (didn't get to go to the glow in the dark tour so I can't compare it to that) Best show I've been to in a long time.
I agree the show was sick. I would be satisfied not going to another concert for a while. Since Dallas was covered in ice, there werent that many people in the pit. So they had people in the nosebleeds (me) get passes to go down there. I went from being in the third floor to being 20 feet away from Kanye. Man it was awesome. I'm glad I decided to drive through that crazy ice to see it.
