    Before Midnight - 5/10

I dunno I just didn't like it. I loved the previous movies and I wanted to like this one but it just got stale and boring.

    Machete Kills - 8.5/10
I realize this isn't for everybody. I really enjoy fun, silly, action-packed, blood-splatter awesomeness. I laughed out loud most of the film (at the Alamo...along with almost everybody else in the theater). Mel Gibson almost redeems himself. Almost.

    Gravity - 7/10 - Best 3D quality I've ever seen. Avatar comes in at a close 2nd.
The Phantom - 8.5/10 - Based off a true story, makes it intense.
The Emperor - 8.5/10 - Based off a true story, gives it a great wow factor.
    The Imposter - 5/10 - Predictable the first 3/4

The Buddy Holly Story - 8/10 I liked it was better than La Bamba which is also a really good movie. Makes you wander what might have been.

Nationwide release goes down November 1st! It's an amazing movie. Seriously powerful and crazy good acting. It had some parts that were more or less filler, but that is a minor complaint.

Nationwide doesn't necessarily mean its going wide. It's only expanding to about 400 theaters. None of the theaters where I live are getting it.

I really really want to see it though. Hopefully it does really well on those screens and then gets a full wide release

That's a high rating.. I give it more like 4.5.

I was expecting it to be a lot funnier. I really like Paul Rudd but this one disappointed.

    G.I. Joe: Retaliation - 5/10

Pretty stupid, but I guess it's OK for a kids movie.

    We're the Millers - 7/10

Fun movie. Jennifer Aniston looks old and ugly now. Would smash the 2 daughters.

    Thor 2 - 6.5

I forgot what I said in the Thor 2 thread, but basically it was kind of a letdown. But I'm a sucker for superhero movies. At least it's better than Iron Man 2 and Capt.

Emperor (2013) - 10/10. Excellent movie. The acting was solid and the story was great - gives you perspectives from both sides. I wonder exactly how powerful was MacArthur? He acted more like president than a general working for the president.

    VHS 2 - 7.5/10

Fun, smart horror movie with some pretty unique things that go on. Recommended.

Saw Europa Report on a long plane ride and liked it enough to unearth this thread and post about it.

Recommend it highly. Technically realistic (as realistic as possible, that is), with a fantastically ambiguous scare-factor. Also a great psychological and philosophical flick; exploring what super-long space travel requires humans to cope with and why it's still worth it.

Agreed. Just saw it free on Instant Netflix. Lots of tension throughout.

Also just saw The Girl. Other than Will Patton a small unknown cast. Well acted and involving story.

Also saw Hurt Locker. Great film...

Last, just rented Mortal Instruments City of Bones for my daughters. Young chick film, and I felt pervy watching the girl from Blind Side. Yum.

Have to pay my respects. Bought furious 6 blue ray/uv. I found it creepy how Paul comes out the red car after the plane is in flames.

The one that's going to bother me lil bit is the first one, the one that started it all, the revolution.

Promised Land 7/10 - Went in totally cold not knowing anything about it and was pleasantly surprised. Very interesting twist at the end.

This is an EXCELLENT take on Xmas movies. Highly recommend (not for little kids).

Man of Tai Chi - 2/10

3rd grade dialogue, boring (repetitive) fights, No direction. Really, what was the point of the whole movie? The ending was confusing... I don't think the message Keanu was trying to convey in the end was what actually came out. Also the final fight scene with Tai Chi dude and Keanu was so slow and very sad. I'll save you the trouble and tell you the ending, Keanu dies, but the good guy actually loses (because he proved Keanu right).

The Man From Earth - 8.5/10

Finally saw this from beginning to end. I wished it was a 3 hour movie so I can hear moar stories of the caveman's life. Never thought I'd really enjoy a movie about a group of people conversing in a room.

Really cool movie! It's kind of slow but it's smart, I really liked it and I'd never heard of it until I ran across it on Netflix.
