    Hear me out.

    Asik, for Avery Bradley...

Yea sure maybe there needs to be a player or pick added here and there. Maybe even a 3 team trade. We trade pbev and asik in a 3 team trade and get avery bradley. I know you guys love this. MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

LETS GET AVERY BRADLEY OFF THE BENCH

No I am Rockets fan for 30+ years. In a trade the other team must have a need. OKC is the perfect fit and that is were we would get the biggest return on him. Adams, Lamb + picks?? (Perkins comes off the books at years end to make the money work.) We have 2 max players in Howard + Harden (20.5 + 13.7 a year and going up). If we want to keep Parsons (in years to come) and Lin than we need players that can play rookie contracts (like T.Jones) and players with Beverley / Parsons type contracts. There is only so much cap space.

Think outside the box. To get a star we would need to cut salary. Lin is talented but we have 3 good points guards with a rookie killing it in the D-League. Asik is the guy who wants out and the play of T Jones may make it possible to get Monroe just to throw a name out there.

Not saying one path is better than the other.

I'm on twitter and I see a tweet from "Beyond the buzzer" saying Miami is looking for a point guard. Not sure if they're reliable but that was interesting

Windhorst reported it first, and yes he's reliable. And no its not PG, its someone who can backup and start for Wade when he's out. A scoring guard more or less, but not necessarily a point guard. Since they only have the likes of Anthony, Haslem, and Rashard Lewis to trade, doubt they get anyone of real value. Probably end up waiving someone like Rashard Lewis, and claiming a veteran either from retirement or off of waivers.

Barbosa, Roddy B, D. Gibson, Reggie Williams all probably get looked at as options.

Almost no way they make a big trade for a real player of value.

    Thinking outside the box

If the rumor is swirling that the Rox are trying to deal Omer by Dec. 19th...where do you think that came from? Do you think Morey is going to let that little nugget out of the bag without purpose or motive? And do you think that the Rox front office leaks things like this on accident?????

The answer to the above 2 questions is NOPE!

Now think outside the box and answer the question why would Morey let this rumor out?????

    Here's the possibilities:

    1. If he's trying to get a deal done by Dec. 19 so he can flip....then the odds are high that if he can get the deal for Asik done he's ALREADY way down the road toward getting the second deal done by the trade deadline. Hence the motivation.

    2. Perhaps, just perhaps he's already got a second deal agreed to and he's trying to maximize these trades to possibly go for something else. In other words...perhaps he's already got a Lin for Ilyasova (or some other player) swap agreed to and the only question is can he combine Ilyasova and Asik for a superstar or can he combine Ilyasova (or some other player/asset) with the assets he gets in an Asik trade now for some other better talent/cap fit.

    3. Perhaps Morey already has a deal he is ready to pull the trigger on and he's simply dredging the league for anything of greater value.

    --------------------------------

Guys, Morey is not going allow himself to be pushed in a corner and HAVE to make a move. He's still just as prepared to carry Asik to the trade deadline as before. It's just that if he can get the talks going now...possibly he can work out a bigger deal by the deadline.

I see you've lost none of your confidence or enthusiasm when it comes to the possibility of The Big Trade.

    You may well be right.

Or Morey has had something lined up for awhile and he's blowing smoke.

In any case, it is exciting to know something could get done very soon....if not entirely surprising. (Thigh contusion. HA!)

No question is my mind that Morey leaked that "timetable" to be able to extract more value in his deal. And unlike the Thomas Robinson trade where Morey HAD to make a move to clear cap room for Howard, Morey DOESN'T have to move Asik during this timetable. Like basketballhoic said, he can hang onto Asik until the trade deadline, Feb 20.

But, this leaked timetable, forces other teams to come to the plate with their best offers now if they really want Asik or else they will be left out.

Look at all my post past post. I would rather have Asik than Howard. For the dollar value I do not think Howard is 2x better than Asik. Fact is we can't have both. The front office wants Howard so here we are.

I do think Adams and Lamb PLUS filler (Prekins) for Asik is a fair trade for both teams plus fills the needs of both teams as well. It just an opinion. We need solid players on cheap contracts.

You've got to consider ALL the options.

One option is a big trade for a superstar.

Another option is several trades to align our cap space for more flexibility in the future.

Another option is a trade or two that creates cap space right now to bring over another Euro in a Pat Beverley style acquisition except with Euro player having to pay a larger buyout.

    All options on deck.

I can see Miami being open to a true 2, or a combo 2/3 or 1/2. They don't need another defensive guard ala Chalmers/Cole. They need a guard that can put points on the board, shoot from the perimeter, is at least average on defense, and has decent facilitation skills to take advantages of double teams on Lebron. I would think that they'd also want a younger guard that can fit into their transition offense.

Right now Miami has to look towards Wade's declining health and knees. The man is great, but he's on the downside of his career. This means reduced minutes, more healing, and the possibility that the Heat have to look beyond Wade in terms of the future.

Wade isn't quite done yet, but I think most see that prime Wade is pretty much History.

He isn't prepared to carry Asik after the trade deadline.

He has to make a move and Asik will be traded. There has never been much doubt about this.

Once again, that is not true.

Asik is owed $15 million next year. He's a top 10 big man. You send out $3 million cash with him and that's $12 million net out of pocket for him on an expiring contract with birds rights.

If Morey doesn't get the deal he wants dont be surprised if Asik is still here after Feb 20.

I didn't say Omer wasn't gone. What I responded to was a poster saying Morey HAD to trade him. That is wrong. He doesn't. And more than that, MOREY WON'T trade Omer unless Morey likes the deal. He's not going to give him away.
