bosh would be a good fit next to asik, lin parsons & harden. with jones backing him up. He a unselfish player that would fit good lin running the point. all we needed was a solid PF and back up center, you see portland making noise with same squad as last year just added lopez & mo willimas and learned how o play together & share the ball, our chemisty was going to be better than theirs this year. If we had to trade lin/asik/dmo for bosh another $20mill contract I would be 50/50 about it. I do like his game
Even chemistry issues aside, it would be a disaster for the Heat, but excellent fo rthe Rockets. Lin would be 2nd string and possibly 3rd string at Miami. Lebron and Wade are both ball dominant guards. Chalmers will start for his spot up shooting. Cole brings in high energy defense, which is why Lin is 2nd string in Houston right now and may push Lin to 3rd string. With Wade out, Lin could possibly back up Ray Allen at the 2 spot, but would be back to 3rd string when Wade plays. Dmo a 7 footer that barely rebounds won't see any playing time behind Bosh and Anderson. The only useful player the Heat can utilize would be Asik. So this is basically Asik for Bosh. Realistically, I think Miami would want to move Joel Anthony or Rashad Lewis for some other bench level guards.
Just wanted to get people's opinion on how they value certain players, not really a realistic trade suggestion. Dwight for Love, who would be in favor of it. Dwight has more trade value than Asik. Asik and Love would make a great front court. Rockets couldn't do it b/c they would never be able to sign a big time free agent again if we traded Dwight away so quick. Don't think Minny would do the trade unless they felt there is no way Love would resign with them in 2 years. Just want peoples thoughts without starting a different thread.
its been mentioned here plenty of times, I think most people here would trade howard for LMA, Love or bosh.
The problem being that any actual trade of Howard wouldn't happen because it would destroy the franchise's credibility. In any case, Howard isn't the problem. Although I suspect the "shoot first, ask questions later" crowd ("Trade Howard for Love!") has more to do with, We were fine with Asik as primary center, we just needed a power forward. But the prime free agent of the summer (well, 2nd best, after CP3) was a center. So there you go.
Option 1. Picks Option 2. Millsap Flexibility is still King. With Millsap you retain flexibility for future trades (on a good, short contract) and also you stay in play for near max cap space in 2015 when Love and other stars become FAs.
Option 2b: Trade Lin for your shooting PF. (I've been saying it since we signed Dwight. A very logical trade is Lin for Ilyasova straight up. Makes a lot of sense for both teams and leaves us in a very flexible position concerning Asik and what we take back in trade for him.)
Ilyasova's contract is not flexible, he's signed through 2017. I get how great of a fit he is but if something better comes along you're pretty much stuck with him. Also the point is to get rid of Asik because he can't contribute much in 15 minutes a game. Lin has been contributing at a high level all year, he's not going anywhere unless a legit star becomes available, in which case we'll need him to be a part of that package
Howard may not be the problem _ but he hasn't been much of an answer... At least not $21 million better than Asik. Morey should have traded everything that wasn't bolted down to get LMA when he reportedly wanted out of Portland this past off-season instead of going after Howard. But I guess adding a big name player just because he could and didn't have to lose anything was hard for Morey to pass up.
Dream scenario would be paul/reddick for harden/lin then swap asik for milsap Paul Reddick Parsons Milsap Howard Bev Garcia Tjones Brooks Dmo Smith Game on
If Houston trades Dwight, we can kiss off any hopes of a star free agent ever signing with us and deservedly so. Dwight isn't going anywhere until Morey has a chance to build a team around him and Harden.
Asik for Amir/Ross. Bev/Lin/Brooks Harden/Ross Parsons/Garcia Jones/Amir/Casspi D12/FA? That is a deep bench!
Hmm, why get rid of Harden? How about Paul/Griffin for Brooks/Lin and swap Asik for Lebron? I mean, while you're dreaming...
