This guy has it figured out. The Houston Rockets, excuse me, The Houston Lins beating the Magic last year without Harden and Parsons has proven at the very least that the hierarchy goes as follows... Lin > Parsons > Harden Harden for Novak and Fields has to be seriously considered. We have seen what that trio plus a defesive big man can do. It might take a couple future 1st rounders tossed in for Toronto to basically hand us the next few titles, but I think Morey will cave and send out the picks to secure a few championships. Also send Bev back to Russia and ban McHale from coaching in the NBA permanently.
I'm sorry, but this is an epically dumb argument. We just beat the Spurs without Lin. Do you think that means he is not needed on this team? You must, since you're suggesting that beating Orlando w/out Harden & Parsons means Lin can run the team on his own.
Let me ask it this way. Are you suggesting that winning one game last season against a Magic team with several of its starters out means that Lin can lead the Rockets with no James Harden and no Chandler Parsons on a long-term basis? That's what it sounded like to me, but I may have misunderstood your point.
Not really interested in the rest of your post, but have to point out the bolded part. Only 4 games this season where Parker scored less than or equal to 1 point per shot attempt. Beverley and The Rockets were one of those 4 games. Getting 1 point per shot attempt is not good AT ALL. Parker was scoring at will like Rudy Gay scores at will. Not efficiently and with a ton of attempts. It's exactly what you want the other teams best scorer to do. Has Bev been great defensively this year? I would say no, but The Spurs game isn't one of the games I would choose as evidence.
You are asking me to predicting a long-term basis. I can only answer that with larger sample size. It's unlikely to get those samples because both Harden and Parson need to be out. But right now, Harden shows poor leadership based on last two games. If Parson wasn't playing tonight, we got another sample. I wish he can do great but let see how it comes out.
Don't know what you guys were arueing about. There's a reason a team is called a team. A player needs other players to succeed. Harden and Lin have very similar style running the offense (completely different skill set though). Parsons on the other hand can't do much without someone like Harden or Lin breaking down the offense. However without Parsons we don't have the tall guy who is good at cutting into lane as well as shooting from outside. Without Lin, we beat SA. Without Harden, we went to overtime last season and could have won if just one free throw or a shot went in. Without Parsons, we suck unless Garcia is on fire from downtown. Parsons is the most valuable player imo on this team just because we are loaded with quality players at other positions. Last two games though it had nothing to do Parsons, Lin, or Asik not playing. Brooks/Bev played just the way we expected and Garcia/Casspi were solid. This bunch can very well be starters in half of NBA teams. The probelm was Harden. If only he tried a bit harder, we would have won.
I know they are team. But someone in this forum keeps saying Harden can lead the team to playoff alone. It's like giving all the credit to Harden and made other player invisible. That is what bugs me.
Bev has been below average on D for a starting PG in the league. Actually, his stats indicate he would be ranked near the bottom of the league in starting PGs. I like Bev and hope he can improve to be at least an average PG soon or he should lose his spot to someone more productive.
I sure hope he's suggesting it because it's true. Lin > Orlando > Dwight > Harden > Parsons. Orlando made it the Finals with DWIGHT as their main guy. Yeah. That Orlando. Well JLIN single-handedly destroyed them. game. set. match. check. and. mate.
when u have a "the man" or "superstar" on your team, everyone else should just shut the eff up and stand behind the 3 point line and cover for your "the man" on defense. it's all about "fit". if you don't understand that then you must have a recent join date.
No you gots it wrong, Deron Williams single handedly defeated Lin led Knix Dwill> Lin > Orlando > Dwight > Harden > Parsons But the twist is Parsons led the Rockets and beat Dwill last year Parsons > all
That would not be fitting. Fitting is playing within the system that the coaching staff laid down. That means "the man" and "superman" has to do their part. Others have to do their part. Issue is to maximize everyone's potential and contributions, not just your star or stars. That is one problem for the rockets. Asikl fit this team until he was replaced by Howard. Now asik doesn't fit? Lin scores 30 without harden. Once harden comes back Lin is supposed to stop scoring?
