Maybe there is something I don't know, but calling BS on that scale. Poblanos and jalapenos vary greatly in heat, but the hottest poblano is way hotter than the mildest jalapeno. But I love discussions of peppers so no offense intended. And where is ghost pepper, it that the same as bhut jolokoia?
I can handle super hot but put me in with the group that can't handle as I get older. I can win any challenge but man do I pay for it later. We talking Johny Cash The ring of fire on the busines end.
I can "handle" the heat, just don't really enjoy it as much as when the pepper doesn't blow the rest of the flavor out & I can't even detect anything else. Hottest offerings of most wing places anyway, I can tolerate. IDK about the really hot ethnic dishes beyond the hottest you find at restaurants for rubes. Not sure I want to know. Love spicy food, just not this whole challenge-spicy aspect of it.
I love spicy food. I can handle some pretty spicy food being from south asian descent. But just because I can handle some spicy chicken thikka from Bandu Khan doesn't mean I always enjoy it.
