Gimme a break. You're just feeding into the excuses that Dwight has used during the past few seasons. If he was a true superstar, worthy of 20 mil per year, he would be demanding the ball in the post and not allowing himself to not get the ball for such long periods. Do you think Shaq or Hakeem would allow this??
The main way Dwight needs to be used in the post is through pick and roll. He's not a good post up player. He had 5 more TOs tonight mainly in the post. If he's not right at the basket, its a low percentage play and more than likely a TO.
Because when Dwight gets the ball, you wait with bated breath whether it's gonna be a charge or traveling or a shot that clangs off the rim. It's hard to watch.
I don't know. I'm just not sure we can win a championship with Harden-Howard. Harden is too flawed defensively and Howard is too flawed offensively. Unless we trade for a third "star", I just don't see it happening unfortunately.
Back to the drawing board on how to play Harden and Howard. We can either wait for Parsons to come back, or we find another scheme to make the two more effective.
What's all this fuss about Howard. Didn't JVG predict that the Rockets would win the championship now that Howard is with the team? Sarcasm. I have been in a just-reading-mode of CF for quite a while now but this thread woke me up due to the early doubting of the team's championship chances with Howard. As one poster noted, it is as if people have only read or heard about Howard now. Reality sucked for many years now as far as the Rockets are concerned.
I never liked Howard but when he came I was cool with it. At the event when they lowered the banner with all the bigs on it thousands of fans screamed, I guess I got caught in the hype and thought things were going to be different here.
what a joke dwight howard is. When we signed him I was hoping for the Orlando Dwight, you know, the one who actually had some resemblance of a post game and was a legit defensive anchor. However we got a no post game, turn over prone, big whose defense has also fallen off quite a big
Here was another game where Howard should carried this team on his back. If Kenny, Shaq and Barkley was covering this game, they would have a field day talking about Dwight.
Those days look like they're long behind him. The guy has been playing like a glorified role player lately.
I could care less what Shaq says about Dwight. No matter what Dwight does, Shaq will never give him credit for anything. He doesn't like Dwight as a person or a player and its been that way since Shaq was a player and the hate only grew more once Dwight left the Lakers. I take what Barkley and Kenny say more seriously than Shaq. He never liked him and never will. I guess it was because Dwight called himself superman and that never went over well with Shaq.
What's with McHale not playing TJones in the endgame too? Casspi may be steady but he won't be the difference-maker that TJones can be. He can't rebound and he can't block. Maybe we should start Bev-AB-Harden (instead of Garcia) next game if Parsons is not yet back. Garcia is not giving us anything.
No more AB-Beverley-Harden lineups, please...especially late. Nothing against Bevs, but the fact is that no matter who Harden is on (see: Tucker, last perimeter option), he will get lit up...Brooks will be on the opponent's smallest guy, but he'll likely get lit up as well, and Beverley will be forced to guard the other team's best perimeter offensive threat, which is unfair to him, because that player is often 3-6 inches taller than him, and his tenacity alone can't overcome that.
