Parsons is almost untouchable IMO. Also, that leave a HUGE hole at the 3

A huge hole that would be filled by...Carmelo.

I'm all for getting the dude but I wouldn't give up Chandler for him. Parsons has done too much for us to let him suffer with that sorry franchise.

There will be so much buyer's remorse. Rockets would lose in the first round, get stuck with a core 3 that doesn't work for years, and watch the excitement come back in NY.

The Rockets don't NEED Melo, since they already have the highest scoring team in the league at 109pt a game. We already have one ball-hog in Harden who can't seem to focus unless he has the ball in his hands. Id rather have Luol Deng since he brings more than just scoring to the table with solid wing defense! On the other hand Melo is a superstar, and superstars don't become available that often, so MAYBE it's worth a shot, if it doesn't work he becomes a HUGE ASSET!

    Rondo to NYC
    Lin, Asik, Jones to Boston
    Melo to Houston

I think it says a lot about Melo that he would bail out of NY after trying so hard to get on the team after just 2 years.

Notice that I said If these teams want him and if he wants them.

Also those are just the assets they have. Obviously they don't have to offer them. And what they offer just depends on how much they want him.

As for Chicago going after him in free agency, sure they can plan on it but if they have a chance to get him now they have the ability to keep more talent around him such as Taj Gibson and maybe you can hang onto Butler instead.

I'm not saying I buy into this SAS comment but IF for some reason NY decides to give into the demands or the pressure, I think Chicago looks like the best destination with better assets than other contending teams like the Rockets.

Chicago is in no-man's land. They can't do anything with Booz. They're NOT going to trade for Melo without assurances Melo will re-sign with them or at least getting him to consent in writing to not opting out of his deal this coming off season. And they're simply not going to be able to get Melo to commit there for at least another season.

Something like that makes sense or even something like:

    Rondo and Milsap to NYK
Lin, Jones, Hawks and Rockets 1st rounders to Boston
    Asik to Hawks
    Melo to Houston

If Morey can somehow get Melo without giving up Howard, Harden, and Parsons he does it in a heartbeat.

I honestly think he might include Parsons if it comes down to it.
