He was a much better post up player in Orlando. Just made moves quicker and used his athleticism to his advantage more. Here he looks kind of lost in our offense and we aren't working him in as much.
Harden is proven for us u can't be a rockets fan saying this dude[/QUOTE] Sure am bud. Been one for 25 years. I agree he needs to play better but the logic of some of these posts is laughable. If you are going to knee jerk on a loss, the points should be valid.
Maybe when he is allowed to play like other big men? He is being refereed unfairly because he's stronger then others. Someone flops down low = automatic foul on Dwight. Dwight gets mauled on the other end = a foul only if they cannot find a way not to call it. Dwight sealing off his man and responding to his defender's physicality results in numerous fouls on him and the ball going the other way. Dwight trying to stop a man from sealing off results in him being called for defensive fouls for being too physical. The league is utter bull***** in the variation in how teams/players are refereed.
Harden was deferring layups to everyone. The whole team played crappy today. Team defense is our issue. Obsession with the 3 when it's not falling is our issue. And yes Dwight needs to step up. It's more than one guy
Dwight's days in Orlando are irrelevant to today. Orlando was BUILT completely around Dwight. Here in Houston, he is coming into a team built around Harden. There is still lots of work to do. You people act like the Rockets just got swept out of the first round or something. Chill out, crybabies.
He'll show up when it counts. The playoffs! So he had one measly game, big whoop. Mchale just needs to keep the flame lit under his rear end and he'll be fine. He still obviously working out the kinks from what dream and coach Mch are teaching him. His post moves are improving just needs a softer touch around the hoop and this 15pt performance could of been 25pt showing. So far I like what I see, defensively he's a beast just couldn't get it going tonight.
LOL - sad part is, all we need is like a 4 game losing streak and there are actually ppl on CFs that think this way
Dwight doesn't look like the same player he was in Orlando. Howard doesn't look good enough to have a team built around him but he's getting paid that type of money. On a night like tonight he has to give you more than 15 and 9. No real impact on either side of the ball. In fact, Howard hasn't done much since that Dallas game.
Were you expecting Hakeem Olajuwon? Shaq/Charles on TNT explained it really well. He's just not aggressive enough before receiving the entry pass. His positioning is poor and too far away from the basket. Seeing how he has zero jumpshot whatsoever, he has no business being that far out. On top of that he's turnover prone and commits offensive fouls.
No they didn't. Shaq and Charles are idiots. Dwight runs down the court quickly and he DOES seal his man in good position most of the time. The problem is the team is too slow in getting him the ball, or they are not looking for him at the right times. This will be fixed with experience. I'm waiting to see how the whole season plays out before going ape**** on any of the players/coaches.
IMHO, the ball got to Dwight WAY TOO LATE in the post. I mean, if our guards are good at giving Dwight the ball, he'd been as beasty as he was in ORL. We need to get the ball to Dwight whenever he seals his man in the post regardless of the play. that's how Hakeem and Yao became effective. You can't say Dwight pass his prime when he's not correctly used in the system. Get Dwight the ball!!
Dwight will get some good numbers when we give him the chance to. He's not getting a lot of touches to put up great numbers every night. Parsons consistently gets more shots than Dwight every game. It's not just post touches. Dwight is open very often for a lob or an easy transition dunk, but we don't look for him.
7-12 is pathetic? Lol Dwight is averaging 17 pts, 12 Rebs, 2 blocks per game. Roy Hibbert is 12, 9 and 4. Dwight accepts your apology.
Ok.... Orlando first year there how'd he look? How'd we always say he looked when him and Yao matched up? Y'all are nuts, y'all wanted him n he came and is doing awesome. Sorry guys this isn't 1986,87,94, or 95 let alone 2007....get over it. He's still THE MOST DOMINANT BIG MAN, and he's just getting his full legs back under him. Do you know how badly his injuries were? People? C'mon man...
Right sorry the dude ain't so smooth like we were spoiled with Dream, and Yao. If you want graceful go watch 1984-2002 Dream highlights, and Yao against the Mavs 05 and Yao 08, playoffs respectively
Agreed. So many kneejerkers on this forum. We finally have a relatively healthy team ready to compete for the playoffs, and people are going off about how our two superstars can't do this or that. There's no pleasing the masses.
Clutchfans probably has the most irrational, delusional, ridiculous group of posters I have ever seen. Trade everyone on the team because we lost to the Jazz. Let's rebuild and tank for the next 15 years straight and in two and a half decades we'll have a CONTENDER!!! Jeez people, I'm just as pissed as anyone about tonight's loss but have some ****ing perspective for a change. This website has become utterly unbearable, only nuggets of gold every now and then from Clutch and then rest of the crew. The only reason I get on here anymore is to read some of those articles. I'm sorry I got on tonight... All the Dwight haters. Your ignorance is amazing. You're right. We would be SO MUCH BETTER WITH THE EXACT SAME TEAM AS LAST YEAR WE WERE A FINALS CONTENDER FOR SURE AND DWIGHT HAS RUINED OUR TEAM!!! HE ISNT WORTH ALL THAT MONEY!!! I'm so happy that DM is the GM and the trolls on here are just that... TROLLS. Peace out.
