If Hakeem is indeed serious about playing elsewhere next season and Rudy has no plans of getting him the ball more, then the Rockets have no choice but to receive some sort of compensation for him NOW. We need to trade Hakeem to a center-starved team that has a high-priced player that they are shopping around. Another pre-requisite for this team should be that they have a poor record. "Why" do you ask? Because say for instance that we were to take Howard off of Jordan's hands in Washington, don't you think that we could ask for and receive a 1st-round draft choice in the deal. I mean come on, Jordan has publicly stated that he wants to get under the cap at any costs and that goes as far as gutting the current team, although not completely. Strickland, Howard, and Richmond must go for Jordan's rebuilding plan to begin taking effect. Granted, Howard is not even worth half of the money he is making at this juncture of his career, but the Wizards are a BAD team and will end the season with a BAD record vaulting them into the top of the lottery. And lets not forget that this is the deepest NBA draft in while. Gerald Wallace, Eddie Griffin, Brendan Haywood, Eddy Curry, Terrance Morris, Troy Murphy, Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer, and Zach Randolph just to name a few qualified candidates. If the Rockets can't pry a first-round pick away from a bad team, then the only other option would be to acquire a proven good young player like Austin Croshere who the Rockets wanted this past offseason. He is overacheiving in Indiana this year and could use a change of scenery to go along with his new contract he just received.

I know it is a lot of speculation, but if Hakeem wants out then this is the perfect opportunity to add to this team through the draft.

***I will be the first to side with Dream though and say ala Keyshawn Johnson, "Just give me the DAMN ball!"

I wouldn't take any player that saddles us with salary unless they were truly worth it. Juwon simply isn't. I would prefer to hang onto Hakeem and get the cap space ourselves.

actually Depaul has said Curry has told them he's entering next years draft. They already have too many players under scholarship with Curry who is not going to Depaul he is going to the NBA.He just signed a letter of intent like Jonathan Bender did with Mississippi State
