Nah, check their forum. They're doing the kind of meltdown we typically do over here, saying their losses to us and OKC (plus only beating a Steph Curry-less GSW by 2) prove they can't beat other contending teams. I personally think they are knee-jerking/overreacting, but we do it here too -- so I understand it from the outside looking in, I guess.

I too think the "Harden is not the answer" guy isn't correct, but on the other hand what I really dislike with Harden is he is looking for the foul too much and he flops a bit too much. When a Spurs player hit him in the nose with his shoulder and he fell on the floor, refs didn't even bother to look twice at that situation. I think it was a foul, but Harden is not on CP3's level of floppiness, so he will have to stop a bit with that come playoffs.

Your obsession with Lin is scary.

27 shots to get 27 points. I will take it every single time we play the spurs. Every. Single. Time.

Parker's shooting (48.1%) in this game is very close to Spurs' team average 48.4%. And our team shooting rate is 44.4%, which is worse than Spurs. We won, but not because our shooting is better than Spurs. So I don't know what you are talking about.

FYI, Parker's career FG% is .495 He was a little bit off last night, but not that much.

Averaging 1.27 points per shot on the season.

    27/27 = 1 point per shot

Just off his season average he should have gotten ~34 points on 27 shots

Solid defense that we will take every single game

What a great game! Playoff intensity, which Bill pointed out during the game, more than once. On SA's home court, where they hadn't lost a game this year. Nice to see Harden step up in the 4th after struggling with his injured feet for several games. The time off did him some good. Jones hasn't slacked off on his surprisingly effective play since becoming a starter. Parsons, dealing with a back that was bothering him, playing a terrific game. Wheels within wheels, with the two head coaches battling each other on the sidelines in entirely different ways. I loved it! Busting my brother-in-law's chops over Christmas (he lives in SA, has season tickets, and never stops praising the Spurs) will be a real pleasure.

    Keep it going, Rockets!

Meh I'm more impressed at the fact we didn't lose our grit when the Spurs made a incredible run, shows character and maturity.

As far as losing leads go, it happens, we started bricking open threes over and over and over again and continued shooting them til Spurs finally took the lead.

OMG we lost? What happened? I thought that we are better without Lin.

Why do you suppose Spurs were having their way penetrating?

    Here's what usually happened:
    1. Spurs set picks for Parker.
    2. Bev got caught on picks.
    3. Dwight not hedging and staying with pick setter.
    4. Penetration by Parker.
    5. Other players collapsed and left their men open
    6. Parker passed out for open shots.

Great! Let's blame it on the players who left his man open and tried to stop easy layups.

I'd have to rewatch the game (probably won't, lack of time), but it makes sense of course. I was watching only Harden and his man on defense to see how many points scored on him (not many).

Dwight was probably staying with Duncan because he hit two easy jumpshots early in the game after Parker passed him the ball out of p&r. In any way, maybe I was a bit too harsh on Harden. Spurs are just too good in p&r. If Dwight followed the ball handler, Duncan would be hitting jump shots all night unless a third man rotated on him...but I guess we still have to get there.

It doesn't look like we have a coherent strategy to defend Tony Parker:

    Dwight
    Chandler

(On if he wanted Tony Parker to take 27 shots…)

    ^Exactly (@ what Chandler said).

Beverly himself was playing Tony Parker almost as well as you could ask. It's just he rarely had any help defense- which is something you pretty much need against someone of that caliber.

LOF's are know grasping for anything to bash James. Moron, did you see how bad the swelling was around his feet? Did you see how well he played on defense in the last two games when he can actually move side to side?

This is why I love Asik's fundamental defense on PnR's. He would hedge to slow the ball handler just enough to his teammate to recover from pick, and then he hurries back to defend his man. If a big man doesn't hedge when the pick is low (within the arc), all he is doing is letting players like TP or CP3 wreck havoc into the defense. Dwight's PnR defense is always 'ice,' he never hedges. It works well against average PG's and deter them from penetrating further into the paint, but CP3 and TP will do their utmost damage without a defender in front of them. They are just too slick and too quick even for Dwight to defend.

Harden did a good job on Manu. There was one play I remember where he really fell asleep. Harden was ball watching and took his eye off Manu for more than 5 seconds and ending up with Manu backdoor cutting for an easy layup.

On the other hand, Belineli was having a field day with Parsons. Others had to rotate to cover his man. Rockets perimeter defense was only as good as their weakest link.
