Never know with Morey. It's probably why he was trying to wrangle picks.

Yeah, you're right. My math was off on how close the salary match had to be. I also wasn't aware that Chicago didn't fill out it's roster. However I still think Gar wouldn't make those trades. It's possible that he might make a trade for Lin now that Rose is out, but I think they would want to trade Boozer instead on Deng so they could save their amnesty.

With Rose out, not sure what they will do with Deng. They might wait until the trade deadline to see how the team is doing, but I just don't see them taking Asik in a trade. They need scoring from the point guard position, and Lin fits the bill.

    Houston sends Asik to Denver

Denver sends Mosgov and Wilson Chandler to Indiana

    Indiana sends Granger to Houston.

Gives Houston a Wing defensive player with good 3 point range.

No problem. Actually, if you read beyond that post, you'll see that basketballholic found a flaw in my proposal. The Rockets would be pushed into luxury tax territory with the Boozer portion of the trade, so the matching rules would have changed and made that portion of the trade impossible. Still, while more difficult than my post made it seem, such a general trade is at least still possible. I agree, though, that the actual trade itself would be unlikely to pass muster with both GMs and owners.

Also, concerning the Bulls' use of the amnesty clause, there are really only two possibilities for whom they'll use it on: Boozer and Noah. Remember, Derrick Rose signed his extension under the 2011 CBA. Amnesty can only be used on players signed or extended under the PRIOR CBA. Since I don't see the Bulls using the amnesty on Noah (who is actually a relative bargain at "only" around $12 million per year), there's a good bet the Bulls will either use the amnesty on Boozer next July or not use it at all.

Very, very good. I don't know what a "10" means, but it's way up there.

As far as the top two-way SFs go (those who can provide top-notch defense and also legit offense), it's probably (1) Lebron, (2) Iguodala, (3) Deng.

(Of course, Durant's offense makes him better than all except Lebron; but these guys are 3 of the top defenders at the SF position AND can supply their own offense.)

Brooklyn Out: Teletovic and Terry, B. Lopez
Brooklyn In: Asik and Wes Matthews

Portland Out: Wes Matthews and Robin Lopez, Future 1st
    Portland In: B. Lopez

    Houston Out: Asik
Houston In: Teletovic, Terry and Future 2014 1st

Teletovic is a poor man's Ryan Anderson for the cheap...plus we have another 3 point shooter with Terry coming off the bench. (contract year)

Yeah but he's not redundant during the 17 minutes Dwight sits out. It's a huge advantage always having a legit 7 foot rim protector on the floor.

Oops. Knew I forgot someone. Yeah, assuming George continues his strong play, he's #2, and AI and Deng move down a notch.

i'm starting to come around to the idea of keeping asik.

it's like having two NBA quality teams on the same roster.

Yeah that's exactly why he did not use any protection.
Have 8 babies with different women.

I guess Ömer isn't so bad himself.
