    Ummm, fact check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestine#Maps

That is the type of insane bold lies that attempt to shape and influence world opinion.

Any world map prior to 1947 will be missing Israel. This is where the native palestinian (phillistines) people lived prior to the British mandate to create Israel where they would export victims of the senseless and horrible holocaust to Palestine and displace the native population that lived there. Now the immigrants from 1947 have reduced the indigenous population to a sad state and isolated them to live in 2 separate ghettos surrounded by security check points and littered with 'settlements' of extremist settlers armed to the teeth. That is fact.

There in fact is no map prior to 1947 that has the country 'Israel', the last time that existed was prior to 722 BC when it fell to Assyrians. Brain washing sucks. Don't attempt it here.

Map of Middle East in 1945

***Edit - Sorry, a discussion like this here sucks. At the same time, i will not stand idly by and let people dispel myths as fact to an unknowing audience. I am all for moving this thread to D&D.

    oh man, just stop it.
this is not a politics forum.

until 1967 there where no phalis.
    it was the Russian k.g.b
that desided to calle the Arabs who were in Israel palis, just to turn the world opinion toward them, after Israel defeated 6 Arabs countries in a 6 day war(1967).

the Roman emperor Hadrian expelled the Jews from the land and called it, Syria palaestina( the wright name).

this land was under ottoman(Turkish) and British rule, until Israel was formed.

it was never under Palestinian leadership.

name the Palestinian leaders of this land before Israel was formed.

Arabs countries got 97% of the land that was under france and Britain rule. They still desided to anhilate Israel only 1 day after the independence.
they lost, and Israel won more territory in a war it didn't started.

And here is the biggest mistake a person who has no idea who were the Philistines were can do.
Philistines were seafarers from Crete, archaeologists proclaim the Philistines have ancient ties with the Mycenaean Greek culture.
The Romans were those who called Israel as Palestine, Palestinians have nothing to do with Philistines and they have no relations at all, as a matter of fact the Philistines were redhair people and there were exterminated from this world long time ago, on the other hand the Palestinians are from the Arabian peninsula and they look just like any other Arab.

And again Palestine was never a country, your "proof" is not a proof, it was not written Palestine was ever country.

You are more than welcomed to search in the web about Philistines and see they have nothing to do with the Palestinians.

Sorry, but you don't know the whole story.

Palestine was never a country. Palestine was what an area of land was called under the Ottoman Empire. See that area called "Trans-Jordan"? That also used to be in the area of "Palestine".

That area of Palestine was split into two pieces... The area to the right of the Jordan River was for Arab Palestinians and was named "Trans Jordan". The area to the left just called "Palestine" was for Jewish Palestinians.

    Map:

There was fighting, and the U.N. came in and split up the remaining area of "Palestine" into two more parts. The Jewish Palestinians called their new land "Israel". And there was remaining Palestinian land still known as "Palestine" today.

And since, Trans Jordan was renamed to just "Jordan".

So in the end, Arab Palestinians occupy 85% of the original area of Palestine. The Jewish Palestinians occupy 15% with their country of Israel.

    History lesson over.

That's pretty wrong dude. Many of the "Palestinians" have been living there for generations. It really isn't justifiable for someone from Eastern Europe or Russia to come and have more of a right to the land. I don't think Jewish people are the only people that deserve to live there, it is a very selfish and narrow point of view to think that way. It is too complicated of an issue for me to propose a solution, but what you said is not right.

That being said congrats to casspi! That's quite an honor!

Not all of the Jews are from Eastern Europe and Russia, my grandparents from my mom's side are Jews from Iraq, and there are millions of Israelis which their grandparents are Jews from Arab countries.
Also the Jews in Eastern Europe and Russia have a common ancestor as the Jews in Arab countries have, the Romans were those who deported the Jews from Israel to Rome as slaves, Jews created a Jewish community there and by the time they wandered to nowadays France and from there to Eastern Europe, just like Jews were deported to Babylon which is Iraq of nowadays.
Also the Alhambra Decree when Jews were deported from Spain then they wandered to North Africa.

Muslims have around 58 Muslim countries and 22 of them are Arab countries, Israel is the size of New Jersey, and it's the only spot Jews can live on freely without the fear of being persecuted, if it's unjust then I really don't know what to say.

I'm really trying to not get carry away and involve politics but when I see people writing things like this it boils my blood so I have to respond.

I am pretty sure Jews in New Jersey live freely without the fear for persecution.

You do know it's not what I meant, and yes Jews are being persecuted.
Antisemitism is sort of persecution, and yes antisemitism exists in the United States as well.

i for one would like to see more jewish owners in the nba, not to mention jewish commissioners of major league sports (the NFL needs to cease their antisemitism and allow a jewish commissioner like the nba, mlb, nhl, and mls do). we also need more jewish representatives in congress, the supreme court, and the fed. the united states must end the persecutions

Dude, in 2011 Obama gave himself the power to go to war without congressional approval which he exercised in Libya. Despite the very high rate of civilian casualties, he argues that drone bombing is not war because it can be done without boots on the ground. With Syria he repeatedly warned that he would intervene no matter the outcome of the congressional vote, making himself look like a total fool in speech after speech. The world was lucky that situation didn't escalate. He's all style and no substance.. and if I were Casspi, meeting that infanticide-supporting drone-bomber would be far from an honor. But each to his own.

You are totally radicalizing and exaggerating what I was writing, Antisemitism is everywhere in this world including the United States, never ever did I say it happened in the NBA or any other sports league in the USA.

Take for examples Neo-Nazis and Ku Klux Klan both of them are targeting Jews and others and you can find them in the United States, I can personally testify about this, two years ago I've been to the USA with my family and while roaming on the Miami shores I saw a Neo-Nazi walking right pass me, thank god he didn't notice we were Israelis.

I don't how common it is in the US but Anti-semitism occurs in the US as well.

yes just like jersey, miami is a problem, too. the issue is that even though they have an israeli citizen owner of their nba franchise and a jewish congressional district representative there, they do not have a jewish mayor like NYC, chicago, and LA do. and this situation is such a brazen occurrence of anti-semitism in a modern day american city that even the arab-americans there (who are also semitic) can feel the hate. reportedly, morty and helen seinfeld have had enough and are now considering leaving del boca vista for less persecutorial pastures.
