Hey guys I am looking to buy a basketball game for my playstation 2 , can you tell me which game is the best of the best out right now. thanks
Definitely wait for the NBA Street2. This time four players can play together and I am looking forward to many sleepless nights at my house with my no-life friends.
NBA 2K3: Best simulation out there (it's not even close). NBA Street Vol. 2: No other arcade basketball game has ever come close to the first installment. You definitely want to pick this up if you like show-off ball. NBA Live: "Freestyle Control" is awesome. Supposed to be a sim, but really way too arcade-like. Kind of a middle ground between 2K3 and Street 2. These are the only three you want to consider. Forget about Shootout, Starting Five, etc.
yeah i wanna get NBA Street 2. Never get shootout, its one of the worst basketball games out there. I personally would take 2K3 over Live 2003. But thats just my preference. People actually like the freestyle button it has. The bad thing about that game is that the scores are always high because there are alot of fastbreaks.
Just wondering, how do the classic rosters compare between Live and 2k3(wasn't Jordan on an EA exclusive contract for awhile there?) Retro jerseys? Which create player is better? Still definitely picking up Street Vol 2 though.
I prefer 2K3 over anything, but looks like the Suns players like Live. http://www.nba.com/suns/news/nba_live03.html http://www.nba.com/suns/news/game_reviews_021218.html
OK, quick poll...which non Rockets team does everybody like using on NBA 2K3? I like playing as the Clippers. Eric Piatkowski shoots lights out in that game...
You should definitely get NBA Street Vol. 2. That's Yao's video game debut! As for the "sim" games, I like Live 2003 the best. To answer A-Train's question, my favorite teams besides the Rockets to play as are the Celtics and the Cavs (even though the real team sucks, the video game team is great!)
I've got NBA live, I love the freestyle control. IT kicks a$$. The bad part about the game is the harder you put it on the more cheap it gets. It is more of an arcade style of gameplay. You literally stick to defenders when you try to go by them, and you will see the ball change directions in mid air so the defender can will catch the ball for an steal. Just some of the things that piss me off about the game. I still Love it though. I am thinking of pickign up the new NBA 2k this fall when it comes out. I love NBA Lives new "freestyle play" but need more of a sim.
hm i think both games are solid, nba live an be realy fun but u don´t get that special feeling........2k3 doesen´t have that action and u can´t edit the players wearing,so posey runs with white socks when the other rockets runs with black.....i don´t like that......2k2 had a bether gameplay i think
I'm thinking about getting NBA Street, but I heard about a bug in it that might make me change my mind. I read that the shot clock resets after a blocked shot. Considering that I plan on using Yao, this could be a very bad thing. About the only way to cause a shot clock violation would be to block shots, unless the cpu has Moochie AI where it dribbles out the clock and puts up a shot after the buzzer, or passes at the buzzer. Does anyone else know anything about this bug, and does it happen on every block? B
