McHale has run his best players into the ground since his first season with the Rockets.

    Agree
Everybody is falling on Harden and Parsons defend.
So D12 is supporting his partners.
    Team Chemistry is ok.

I don't know why everyone wants to attribute OMGDRAMA to Howard's statement. If you want drama, go watch your soaps.

Basically, Dwight is saying: 1) Certain players are playing too many minutes (Harden, Parsons, Howard), 2) those players need to step up and be willing to admit that they are playing too many minutes for the good of the team, 3) the rest of the team needs to be ready to fill in and maintain a strong level of play.

He's not calling out Harden because he's clearly in the same group of "overused" players. He's not pointing out Lin specifically because there are a lot of guys on the bench who have even fewer (read: zero) minutes than Lin who could probably contribute over the course of the season.

The only thing that could be construed as "drama" is the implication that the coaches aren't managing players' minutes - the players are. In which case, that's not an uncommon thing to see in the NBA. There are plenty of coaches out there who don't have the authority to manage their players (read: superstars) properly. Those players are basically able to dictate their minutes and check in and out of games at will. Unfortunately, McHale seems to be one of those coaches, intentionally or not. Since he seems unable or unwilling to manage his players' minutes, it's up to the players to do it themselves.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I really don't have a lot of faith in a coach who can't or won't actively manage his players' minutes and hold them accountable. The only major weapon in a coach's arsenal is playing time on the floor, and if McHale doesn't have that, then he's not going to be able to affect major change in terms of focus, effort, or culture.

VIDEO: @DwightHoward after #Rockets shootaround. He said "It's going to be a very interesting game for us' http://t.co/iFPUBxSeSi - CSN 11/23/13

    - Howard is starting to grow on me, really like the leadership he starting to show, his bball IQ, his understanding of adjustments & the game in general.

Wow what a reach by the OP. And some of the post here are just r****ded. All the coach haters here are pathetic. They try and spin anything into a negative about McHale. This was in no way a dig at McHale by Howard. Geez!

    THANK YOU!

Here the OP does more reaching than Plastic Man and all the lemmings fall in line.
I don't think I've ever seen such desperate mix of poor comprehension and convoluted logic before.

No problem woth what dwight is saying. Our starters play way too many minutes especially when you consider the pace of our offense.

I don't see what the big deal is. Howard is just saying if you can't give 110% on D because you are tired then take a seat and get a breather. What's wrong with that?

Dwight Howard just might be the player-coach we didn't know we needed or have. That said, Dwight has a history off running his mouth off to the media and getting caught with saying some unfortunate things. Not saying I want him to stop speaking, but do want him to be more careful. Can't even imagine how national media might twist his words in this case to make it seem like he has a problem with his new coach.

Dwight's frustration with lack of consistency in the last game is understandable. He had best 1st half performance as a Rocket and we completely went away from him in the 4th and lost the game.

I am just glad that Dwight said that, that is the problem for long time, finally somebody publicly said that.

Nothing to see here. You ever notice how harden won't give the ball to an opponent after a foul is called or timeout or whatever -- he starts yanking the ball away and just being overly aggressive?

Well, he gives off that same attitude to Mchale IMO to the pt where Mchale is too afraid to coach him and tell him to step up the D or stop ball stopping, stop holding ball to 2 secs and passing, stop hero- ball 3 pt chucking. He does not seem coach able like he is too good and above the team. That is very concerning

Greg Popabitch would not put up with that. Guaranteed.

Good to see Dwight calling out what we all have been seeing. Lets see tonight if Mchale manages Harden's minutes better when he is too tired to play D.

True, but choosing not to foul with a 3 point lead the last couple of seconds can be blamed.
