I've got no problem with what Dwight said. He's suppose to be the veteran leader and should speak out to hold the team accountable. Arguably the best defensive player in the league he has every right to demand a better defensive effort from everyone including and especially harden. It's one thing if you just suck at it, but its clear harden just doesn't care to try which needs to be disciplined. Good for Dwight, but his message should be made clear from mchale if it hasn't already. If it has then mchale needs to start benching players including harden to show them he's serious. I'd rather sacrifice a handful of games early to set the discipline we need to be a contender. Doesn't seem like some of these guys respect their leaders or fear any consequences for their lack of effort.

    SVG, Brown...
Mchale, think twice before joining Dwight on a cannoli run.

Dwight is 100% right, and if the only way to hold Harden accountable and light a fire under McHale's behind is to send a message in the media, then so be it. This team is too deep offensively for anybody to be conserving energy for offense or gassed from too many minutes.

I am agreeing with you. There's NO excuse to lose to Philly, let LA beat us, or even for the Mavs to come back.

I'm saying the root of all those issues are what I outlined above that. It's not an excuse, it shouldn't be. Championship teams don't have those issues.

The team definitely needs Harden, but last year we won games without him as well. So perhaps we can look at those games and see what was different.

No you are not Dwight fan. You don't understand why he said so under different circumstances.

If Mchale will continue to play politics and favoritism in this team,we are not going anywhere.Stop the non sense that Harden is our god,Beverly fits better w/ the first unit c'mon we are a better basketball fans to believe this kind of BS.Even the second unit plays the same way because they thought that this is how to do it to earn more minutes, instead of sticking to their roles!

If McHale can't control Harden, I sure hope Dwight can.

Philly dropped 123 because McHale didn't have them foul Philly on the inbound on the last play of regulation, AND they were shooting lights out. Go look at James Anderson's actual shots. Half his shots were circus shots. Most of them were contested. It's doubtful he could duplicate that performance again this season or over the next 3 seasons.

McHale also ran Lin for 44/48 minutes in regulation, and 47/53 total minutes with hardly any time for rest. Pretty hard to defend when you're carrying the entire offense for 34 and 12 AND getting no rest.

Dwight is right. You can't run players into the ground no matter who they are, and if the Coach isn't stepping up to control the minutes, then the Players need to put their ego's aside and ask to be subbed for rest.

And having the subs hardly play sure didn't stop Dallas from running all over the Rockets and putting up 123... IN REGULATION.

Get your head out of your butt. It's BAD basketball to run your players into the ground, starter or reserve.

See: McHale running players to the ground during all of the OT losses.

Who is the second unit? Is it Lin, Beverley, Casspi, Garcia and Asik? Lin, Beverley, T-Jones, Garcia and Asik? There's hardly ever any D-Mo.

I believe the Clippers were on a backend of a 5 day four game road trip dealing with injury issues as well when they won that game without Harden. And granted some teams just lose games during an 82 game season for all kinds of reasons. Difference is we didn't have Howard last year but we do now and he was playing. And the Rockets were coming off of rest and time to practice when they played Philly. Lin was excellent and TJ did his job but everyone else _ BLAHHHHH....

This team isn't as deep as many make it out to be and the Philly game showed that. It's easy for certain players to put up points in a gimmick offense when both teams aren't playing defense but those types of offenses usually don't get you thru the playoffs.

Coaching has to get better but so do the players... They have all season to work on it. Lets see what they do tonight against some good competition.

Lin is probably one of the most mismanaged players on the team. The guy can go from playing 40+ minutes when the team is struggling, to less than 20. This lack of consistent playing time and rotations is contributing to players getting cold, starters getting gassed and late game collapses.

Correct me if I am wrong. So Jeremy should have raised his hand and said to McHale "coach, I am damn tired today. I need to sit out this game. I play ZERO minutes."

Why so rude  Anyway _ I've already stated I totally agree with Howard about the minutes, especially with Harden and Parsons... And I'm glad he said it. This is the first step to getting McHale ran out of town or becoming a better coach. This minute issue has been a problem going back to last year.

And I have no response to all the excuses you're cranking out with your excuse machine about the Philly game if you're going to take my opinions on a personal level that you have to be rude... That mess F's up the board

    1) "Shots fired" lol--did the coaches get gunshot wounds now? oh no
    2) Dwight only named himself specifically, so start there with your analysis.
    3) Your BS "concern" (read: "glee") that he is "sending msgs . . . through the media" is the very reason you should conclude that he is not sending messages through the media. You're going against your own logic. Dwight is talking about himself, first of all.
    4) Coaches can't predict when a guy is about to be tired anyway. First the guy gets tired, then the coach sees it. By the time the coach sees it, the player is already gassed. In other words, the player knows before the coach.

"Howard tried to shoot the coaches." How old are you?
