Howard speaks about rotation management, why no thread made yet？

 

3rd quarter and all Wolves starters have 15 pts except Rubio who has 10.

 

In an effort to get more consistent play overall, Rockets center Dwight Howard said players might have to ask out of games more often.

James Harden is fourth and Chandler Parsons is seventh in the NBA in minutes played per game. Howard has played an average of 35.2 minutes, the 31st most in the NBA.

“We have to play four consistent quarters of basketball,” Howard said. “It can’t be one quarter or two quarters or three. It has to be four. Guys have to know their limits, know when they need a break, be humble enough to raise their hand and get somebody else in to play those minutes. A lot of times, guys cruise. I’ve cruised a couple times, wanted to stay out there longer.

“You can’t do that if you want to be a great team. You have to go out there and go hard and play 48 minutes as hard as you can, whether that’s 20 minutes, five minutes, 30 minutes (each), we have to all give it all and trust that the guy off the bench is going to give us the same effort or more. We all have to get to that level where we trust each other and trust that the guy that is going to come in for us will come in with the same intensity. Once we get there, we’ll be a tough team to beat.”

Why do you want to package Lin with Asik? Why does trading Lin get brought up so much? He is the 3rd or 4th best player on the team and young, he dedicates himself to improving, plays team ball, can score when Harden is out and lead the team, so why do posts saying trade him come up so much?

 

This is Rockets' tradition of bashing PG.

 

Thanks. I guess they'd want to trade CP3 for Parker and vice versa. Never happy with who they have.

 

Howard should just says this team is selfish and the player only care about his own stats.

Or Howard is indirectly saying that McHale doesn't know how to manage players' minutes, and the players need to manage their own minutes.

 

I'm already expecting Love and Martin torching us. Harden will probably lose sight of Martin all night lol.

 

From what Dwight is saying, it sounds like he's pointing out that some players are not committed to playing for a Championship. Though, understandable for Harden and especially Parsons. One just got paid mass and is young at just 23 with a whole 5-year 80M contract in front of him, and one is trying to get paid, and the only way to do that is by putting up stats. :X

 

Good observation, whereas Howard is right in his prime and know that he probably only has a few more years to be what he is. He's got the money but time is running out so that ring is probably his numeral uno. And poor Lin...he's still just fighting to stay in the rotation even after playing superb for the first 10+ games.:grin:

We need this win, the next 5 games will be tough

 

I hope we have something planned for the Kevins! Winnable game, but I think defense is what will get the job done (considering Wolves aren't the best defensive team either). Got to play all 4 quarters with defensive intensity.

 

Because it's not about jeremy lin thats why

 

This doesn't look good. We tend not to do well against teams with a good PF and SG. I wonder why. Career game for Love and Kmart.

 

Harden and Martin will be trading buckets! I think James, if he puts effort in defense, will get the best of KMart. Sadly, KLove might be a little too much for TJones. The matchup may favor the Wolves, but it's still winnable.
