Even if he could quote it it's just ONE person's comment. It doesn't mean every Lin Fan thinks that way. LOF is not the problem. The problem is LOHs labelling anyone who praises Lin as a LOF.
Response I do agree that LOFs should respect the reason why this site was started. Often they don't seem to realize that Rockets fans have a very different perspectives than LOFs, which is natural and understandable. Having said this, Rockets fans should at least consider that perhaps the way Lin is being utilized by Mac does not help Rockets win as many games. This is the only issue that Rockets fans (and Lin fans) should focus on. I also think Mac's over-usage of Harden and Parsons is not conducive to maximizing Rockets' chance of winning. As for other Lin-related issues, I believe they are more suitable for Lin fan sites such as jeremylin.net. At the same time, I do notice time to time many CL posters indirectly put down Lin even when they say that they only care about Rockets winning games. I do believe for the most part that Lin is being fairly treated by Rockets' fans, even if I think Lin is not being utilized correctly by Mac.
Response Just another blithe way to dismiss what the writer is trying to say. Perhaps the writer has a point.
LOFs and LOHs are cancerous. I am a fan of Lin for his off court deeds more than on court performances. I am not a LOF because I am rooting for the Rockets more than Lin. There were many times I get labelled a LOF in other forums and that's the reason why I am in CF now. It seems like no forum is spare of this LOF Vs LOH cancer. Even in CF.
He did suck that game. However, how many times has Harden or Parsons gone for 1 for 10 shots during first half, only to play well during 2nd half? For the Mav game, I failed to see what Bev was doing so right that persuaded Mac that having Bev was the best decision for Rockets. Mac's way of coaching must be too deep for me to understand. I also think Dmo and other bench players should be given 2 to 3 minutes of play time.
I'm a Lin fan I'm a Harden fan I'm a Dwight fan I'm a Landry fan I'm a Scola fan I was a Lowry fan I was a Dragic fan I was a Martin fan I'm a Hayes fan and anybody who wants to question me being a true fan while i sat watching everygame on a 360p ad infested stream halfway round the world while we troted out a, LowryMartinParsonsScolaHayes assball of a lineup CAN GET THE **** OUTTA HERE!
Response It's funny. I don't really care what Lin does off court. I like the way he can contribute to any team and fit in. That's one reason I come to CL site, to read purely BB related discussions. I am half Lin fan and half Rockets fan, if that is possible. I hate it when Rockets lose whether or not Lin is playing. I am not a fan of Mac as the coach, although I was a great fan of Mac, the player. He was truly an awesome post player.
Response They should both try to stick to those issues which are relevant to Rockets' winning or losing games. That's showing respect to the purpose of the CL site.
He didn't bring back Beverely, because Lin was dominating. Apples to oranges. Beverely certainly wasn't doing too much in his 37 minute outing. If Lin or Bev were dominate in a game, then yes they stay in. If both are doing okay, then it's just up in the air. Don't understand the 2nd part of your question. Because the effort was there. Lin's responsible for Paul destroying us in the first match vs. the Clips, right? Remember that? Paul's 23/17 all because of Lin. Jeremy was actually trying. James sleeps on defense. Again, all your points are just nonsense.
No one is the best at any position putting the lazy effort that Harden does in on d. End of story, you cant argue it, he is absolutely the laziest player I have ever watched in 35 years of watching the Rockets play. Absolutely hilarious you want to call out Lins D. Have you seen what opposing sg's are averaging against him? Thats about some terrible cherry picking of lopsidedness on your end. Laughable.
My friend went to the game in New York and told me this story. One time in warm ups, Lin told Mchale a knock knock joke. Mchale didn't even laugh. Why doesn't he know Jeremy is the nicest, most humblest, most funny guy in the League?
Ofcourse it would depend if the person leading the team knows a strategy that leads to success. Do you think Mchale has that strategy and can lead the Rockets to success?
Haha, that's one way of looking at my comment. If it was not clear, what I meant is that "we are not TRULY competitive without another star, and the only person with such potential on our squad is Lin." Therefore, a few losses here and there are not nearly as important as developing talent. Sure, we could make the conference finals playing this way, but no way can we take on Miami if we only have Harden to lean on...
This only holds true if one in fact believes that Lin actually has such potential. This is also what serves as a huge chasm between LOF's and most Rockets fans. The vast majority of Rockets fans I know and spoke with about Lin do not believe at all that he will ever become a star. On that note, neither do I. Some believe he will turn out to be a good PG, while others believe he will turn out to be simply solid. Right now though, Lin is definitely not worth us throwing away games simply to try to develop him. He needs to go to a crap team like the Kings or Bobcats for that to happen.
