Then dont talk about it here then. You are perfectly free to discuss what you wish, but do it in the right place. The Debate and Discussion forum is where that belongs, and if you dont want to go there, then dont bring it up in this part of the forum. The GARM is for basketball talk about the Rockets only.
attitude here: Lin fans do not qualify as rockets fans Lin fans should not be allowed to start a thread Lin fans do not understand bb reality: everyone has equal rights to love the rockets this is a country known for freedom of speech bb is too complicated for anyone to predict
So Beverley deserve 34 minutes of playing time when he puts up 1-10? What a double standard from this forum.
Rubio's PER is below the Average, Westbrook's and Lillard's Per are below Lin's. Rubio's ,Westbrook's and Lillard's true shooting percentage are below Lin's, Rubio's TS% is one of the lowest for in the NBA for starting point guards. There are 9 point guards in the NBA that have PER's above Lin's. Only one PT guard in the NBA that has a higher TS%(a great measure of efficiency) than LIn. Lin's Value Added is among the top ten or fifteen. Try and be happy for a Rocket that is showing that he is among the top PG's in the NBA at this moment. His success makes the Rockets much better. A team is made up of individual's so everytime a Rocket shows his stuff like Lin or TR (he will be a star) I am happy. I know you must be too. So give some vocal support to Lin, TR, Parsons who are attempting to make it to the top and help the Rockets.
It is just a different oppinion. The writer did make a few valid points though, particularly with the usage of Lin. Lin did play terribily in that game for whatever reasons. There is no excuse for that. But I do agree that you must put your best players in the close game situation no matter how terribily that player may have played in the first a few quarters. Do I think by putting in Lin to close out the Dallas's game Rockets would win? With the way the whole team played in the 4th quarter and Dallas was on the roll, unlikely. But, should Lin be put in, let's say the last 4 minutes? Yea! I understand that you may start the game not with the best players or your team is on the roll and winning but you absolutely must close the game with the best players, epecially during close-game sitaution! It is just Basketball 101! It is just bad coaching not putting Lin in unless he is injured. So there is no excuse for that either. Not to mention. For young players, a little bit trust can only do wonders! Just look at Terrence Jones.
Lin was terrible in the minutes that he played...wouldn't it have been nice to see if he could have turned that around given his usual minutes...that's all
Yes, it's a win streak but also Lin put up insane numbers and played like a superstar. Lin wants to get away from that and I hope NBA announcers and news media will as well. But anytime Lin goes for high scoring and assists a few games in a row, here comes the Linsanity talk again. Lin may have just unintentionally created a standard he'll struggle to live up to for some time when he just went out and played great ball in that stretch of games.
An article on Lin kinda relates to this topic. Check it out http://houston.culturemap.com/news/...-leads-to-rockets-collapse-and-its-on-mchale/ Someone pointed out that during the lost to Laker's Bev when 1-10 and still play 34mins.
Being an average defender and a spot-up only threat does not exactly hurt the team (remember, Bev's also a threat for offensive boards); there's a slight difference between not hurting the team and not benefiting the team. Personally, I like going to the Harden/Lin PnR down the stretch (as McHale has done a couple times this season), but I was just giving an objective take on the current situation and why it is the way it is. It's more complicated than that: Les personally wanted Lin to be on this team. Lin also generates a substantial amount of revenue and marketability overseas in Asian countries; Kobe and the Lakers usually dominate those markets. Other teams may value his contributions far less than what the distractions he may bring off the court (a la the Tebow effect, but at a smaller scale) and/or value him significantly less than we do (we know Morey isn't going to make a deal without getting something he likes in return). All this trade Lin talk is pointless imo, he's probably similar to Parson's status: could be traded for various reasons, but unlikely to happen anytime soon.
Here is the thread in the D&D for you http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=235162 Like the MOD told you, discuss Lin+Politics there.
Inconsistency is plagued with all young players. Last season, you'd see a lot of up and down games by Lin with a span of 2-3 games. This season so far the span is about 5-6 games, let's hope he continues his improvement.
It is true. For some reason McHale doesn't give Lin the same trusts or his fair shares. Lin had 12 good games and he is overdue for a bad one. The Mav game is that game it's a pity he wasn't given the chance to overcome a 0-5 start.
