I know he's a free agent but didn't know where else to put this thread? You guys that follow Euroball where would rank him in regards to NBA point guards? And where do you rank him among International FREE AGENTS??

You all seen him torch Rondo and the Celts last fall. There's also video of him dominating Llull and Real Madrid. Talk about his game and whether he's good enough to be a top 15 point guard in the NBA right now. Rank him please.

Some highlights might help for those who don't know his game.

That was last year's Celtics unit and that was Rondo before he got hurt. McCalebb is nasty quick, no doubt about it.

Where would you rank him among NBA point guards?

Is he worth $12 million over 3 years with $8-9 guaranteed?

Would a good comparison be Ty Lawson?

    Top-5 dead or alive.

I mean, who knows. I do think Ty Lawson is a very good comparison. It's one I've made in the past myself, in fact.

I thought McCalebb looked quite good this pre-season against the Thunder, too. There used to be a video on youtube of him destroying Rubio the season before Rubio came into the NBA I think. He had like 28 points on 8/9 shooting in a blow-out win IIRC.
May be on the second best team in Europe currently.
Has performed well pretty much at all levels and teams. Pre-season against Celtics and Thunder. Euroleague with Partizan, then Sienna, now Fenerbahce. With Macedonia against various elite European teams.

    This is from 2011:

Those "accumulated" stats above are Parker's of course, not Dragic's.

    Dragic-McCalebb:

Parker and Dragic were better than McCalebb this past Eurobasket, but Bo still managed to end up with a higher PER (19.0) than Rubio, Llull, Calderon, V-Span and Shved despite playing through nagging injuries.

He's a NBA player for sure. Probably could start on some teams. Wouldn't be a great fit next to Harden, as McCalebb, like Lin is ball-dominant and excels when being the primary guy. Would do well next to an Afflalo type or as 6th man though.

I think so. And at least one NBA team was willing to go a bit higher than that last year.

    ~$1.75M I think.

He's in the second year of a 2+1 deal (not sure if player- or team-option). He's making around $2.2M/year after taxes. That number does not include all the extra perks like free housing, a car, etc... though.

Wonder if $5.62 million 1st year plus the buyout dollars would be enough to get him out of there?

Have no opinion on his NBA skills, but it's nice to see one of the few Americans who enjoys tearing it up overseas.
