Our teams has looked much beastlier lately. The problem I see we are just adjusting way too late =\

The Rockets are the number one scoring team in the NBA. Obviously they have some kind of chemistry. They scored 120 points against Dallas and Harden only took 14 shots and Lin only had 1 point. Offense isn't a huge issue.

I don't see any problem with the chemistry right now. In the two last games the team has started to move the ball really nicely. The Asik issue has been distracting a bit, because it causes voids that several players are looking to fill as well as some difficulties in changing the game system. If Asik will be traded, as I anticipate will happen, the incoming player will again cause some roster tension. Overall, however, I'm seeing the players getting familiar with their roles, which makes them look much more comfortable on the court.

Besides the Asik issue, team chemistry on court is improving. They are just a young team that cracks under pressure when their backs are against the wall. Experience will fix that in due time. It's always tough in the beginning stages.

We played three quarters of beautiful basketball yesterday. Just a matter of learning pull it all together into consistently playing 48 min of basketball like that. We're gonna be fine.

Absolutely! The three first quarters against the Mavs were in mind stunning. The Mavs did not find any possibility to decrease the par to single digit. It was only when the Dallas home court advantage put the pressure on when the Rockets abandoned the ball movement.

The Rockets can always win by scoring despite the defensive shortcomings. Without ball movement the scoring drops and the other team takes the initiative.

I don't agree with this at all. Harden shows periods of selfish plays, but generally the rest of the team not at all. Lin can do that sometimes as well, but generally the team is on a good track.

Unselfish players - cannot make plays with the ball
    mixed - can make plays
selfish--can make plays, or maybe cannot make plays, but like to shoot and score above all else.

I would call Asik unselfish as he is just unhappy and disgruntled. If you let him play, he'll go out and play unselfishly.

This team lacks leadership, until we find someone with balls to be the leader we will continue to squander big leads, continue to give up points, continue to lose games we should have won, etc.

Wut... Chemistry hasn't been a problem the last few weeks. Playing anything remotely resembling defense and moving the ball around for all 4 quarters is the issue. The potential is there for both they just have to try it once or twice so they can see that it works.

I've never started a thread in my whole time here! No need to thank me. . . . It's a different posting culture nowadays. This is also the only board I post on. I'm sure that's old-school. . . .

People like to complain. It's clearly evident from the game threads. 2K + posts after a loss, under 1K after a win.

It took until dec last year for the offensive chemistry to click and post ASB for the defensive chemistry to look even half right. Have some patience jfc.

-your eye test sucks if you can't see any improvement (alley oops to Dwight, players becoming more familiar with sweet spots and positioning)
-it's only been a few games, have some patience.

Offensively, the chemistry is fine. It's the defense that's the problem and it all starts with your best player, James Harden.

IMO, As a fan, I find Harden's lack of defense insulting. His teammates should also be insulted. The fact that he doesnt even put any effort to play defense makes me believe he is a diva who thinks he is above the team.

Mchale probably tells Harden to play defense, but he will never listen because he knows Mchale needs Harden and knows he is easily replaceable as a coach.

It's up to the team as a whole to call out Harden on his B.S. defense and put him in his place.

This team will never commit to defense as long as their best player buys into it.

Right on! Team defense can only go as far as the weakest link. No matter many elite defenders you put around Harden, the team defense is going to bad as long as Harden plays no defense. Think about "Domino" effect. You cann't unplug a hole to fill another hole. Soon, you will have holes all over the place. This is why Hard must put efforts in defense and play at least "accetable" defense. Let other player driving by him and then trying to poke the ball out is pathetic .
