Houston has had ten times attention as he really deserve. It's the time to release Lin and give back you senior clutch fans your original space. Let Lin go, you make fun yourself
I was pissed at Mchale then too. Lowry played good the year before Mchale got here. I always think Mchale deserves a chance to get better and improve as a coach, the same way I think a player should have that chance. It's still hard for me to believe some of his decision making.
Glad you've admitted it. No matter how terrible Jeremy Lin plays, he must play the most minutes and get the ball because his potential demands it whether we win or lose. This might make sense to the fanatic that doesn't realize winning is the team's goal and Lin's borderline all-star potential is your goal.
That's the kind of thinking that gets you in trouble around here. Can't you see we are all here for just one type of player, be it Lin, Harden or Howard. Personally I used to be an SF3 Only Fan, then I was a Shane Battier Only Fan, now I'm an Parson's Only Fan. How dare McHale marginalize Parson's by letting James Harden take the court at all.
people aren't real rocket fans if they want jeremy gone because of his fans, because as you said he's been the most consistent player so far, he has one bad shooting game and people are ready to throw him to the wolves. A real rocket fan would be more concerned about how the team can get Ws, the best players to get the Ws, as opposed to dealing with "LIN NUMBER ONE OPTION 25/12 #nexttoneypaka"
Not his age, his amount of playing experience. This is essentially Lin's 2nd year as a full-time player.
I wonder how good yall think Beverley/Lin will turn out: 1. superstar 2. all-star 3. solid starter 4. defensive roleplayer 5. bench scrub IMO and probably similar to everyone else that didn't hate on this thread, Beverley will end up as 4, and Lin will end up at 2.
Not that much kool aid actually. If Lin even sniffs 15/7 - he probably gets voted in. Whether or not that is truly "All-Star" calibur is a whole other debate. I always vote for every Rocket on the ballot anyways. I hope that doesn't make me an LOF.
Oh you're referring to the popularity contest. I don't think anyone on Clutchfans will be surprised to see him voted in.
he's not an all-star now (though he might even be this year if kobe doesn't really come back), but team successs brings that kinda recognition. especially if he consistently comes in 3rd in voting anyways... they don't win you championships? we searched the last few years for those 2 superstar labels to get our championship. and the other players do matter. if you have 5 role players you're not winning anything.
Popularity wise, it's a no brainer. Dude has got a whole Asian market behind him much like YAO. Ceiling wise, Lin can be a solid starter or maybe he can develop into a borderline all star i donot know. Give him playing time and let him do his things, there is a possibility that he can drop 18/8.
How many PGs in the west are better than Lin right now? I'm not insinuating anything here, it's an open ended question. I would say CP3, Rubio, Lillard, Westbrook, and Parker are easily above Lin. That's just the list on the tip of my tongue, but all-star voting is purely popularity based.
If Lin does not get voted in (via the Asian vote) he will never be an all-star. Do you truly believe Lin will eventually be a top 4 guard in either conference?
