Well, I never said Sabonis will stop Shaq ALONE! what were Davis and Kemp acquired for? if a lineup of Wallace, Sabonis, Kemp and Davis doesn't slow Shaq down, nothing will! the Trail Blazers WILL win it all this year. And your Rockets will get edged by the T-Wolves or the Mavs for the Final spot in the Playoffs. My point of view of course. And regarding Pippen's mess-up in the Western Finals last year, I tell you i wasnt surprised. Even when he plays a great game, he has to be the one to mess it all up in the end. Sort of like Cuttino Mobley who I think takes too many unnecessary, and at times stupid, shots that cost your team some games. ------------------ Blazing to the Title!
Steve Franchise is not having a better year than last year? Dont look at his stats, look at our record... November last year 4-11 November this year 9-6 Now do you think Stevie would say he is not having a better year? ------------------ We need to do whatever we can to keep Cat and Coop playing ball in Houston...
BlazerGirl Dallas is not surprising. You are still underrating Mobley. But, I'll give you some things: Wallace has got to be the most underrated player in the league, and Dale Davis is a huge pick-up. I definitely think you are better than the Lakers. Mainly because you have the Triangle clogged. Shaq is stopped as long as Jackson foolishly clings to the Triangle when he has the best center in the league. You proved it last year. Damn!!!!! Why couldn't you close it out, and really proove that you have the Triangle clogged. Now as for San Antonio: watch out is right!
Smith can not and will not contain Cat. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
BlazerGirl i sure have heard of sabonis. and guess what shaq still made your front line look awfully silly in the playoffs and opening night. it wont matter how many short power forwards you throw against shaq he will eventually have a good game or foul them out. for such a big salary on kemp all you are paying for is 6 fouls in 18 min practically. kemp/sabonis do not do alot on the offensive end either. by the time the playoffs come i bet sabonis is achey body will be able to stand about 10 min of shaq's pounding. and with the way kobe is playing this year and the acquisition of horace grant i dont think you are going to be able to send 3 guys at shaq without getting burned. lets not forget rider who will be out for blood against your team. sabonis has a strong body, he still cant stop shaq. and the lakers added penterbury who can shoot the ball. sorry i think LA and SA can still beat portland. especially if atlanta can beat them smith might do an ok job on cat but he isnt nearly as quick and young. he is tall for a guard. cuttino should be alright. francis should do alot better against stoudamire. stoudamire played a nice game the first time. francis will look to redeem himself. i look for him to have a good came if cat is off. dream will do all right if he is against sabonis who is too old to get up there and block his shot. if wallace or davis who can is on him he will move out and draw them away allowing the guards to penetrate. ------------------ --TEX [This message has been edited by TeXaSalsa (edited December 02, 2000).] [This message has been edited by TeXaSalsa (edited December 02, 2000).]
C;mmon guys, admit it, Wallace is another 40 point-20 rebound player waiting to happen....He's gonna DOMINATE.....BUT, the guards will be good enough to take it to the end, but we'll lose in Overtime or at the buzzer.....Francis and Cat will also dominate, not to mention Mo having a good game, and this is not where Shandon will break out..... Rockets 84 Blazers 86 I hope I'm totallly wrong (about losing) ------------------
Back then Stve Francis was still learning his role as a PG in the league. Now as far as im concerned he played the 2 in college. so how would you expect him not to struggle early. but he DID learn fast. gotta hand him that. polus, the Rockets were going through lots of ups and downs at that time were they lost Charles Barkley. the bad start last year in November comes of no surprise. so you really can't compare this year's November to last year's. Rockets are having a better start cuz all are healthy, Mobley's playing great. but Francis is DEFINATELY not playing better than last year. Ask Pip If we're gonna look at such games.....I believe the Rockets lost to the Clippers? ------------------ Blazing to the Title!
...and the Clippers are a much better team than the Hawks ------------------ WooHoo! The season's here!....I'm still gonna need that keg of Pepto-Bismol.
also the clippers could easily be 8-9 as they have lost 3 games in overtime to very good teams. Steve francis is having a much better start to the season than last year. If you cant see that than I'm assuming you only look at box scores and never really watch the rockets that much ------------------ www.truebballfansite.homestead.com
TPL Actually i HAVE seen a couple of games for the Rockets this year. as well as the highlights of some of the other games. what i noticed about Francis this year is the decreased explosivness from last year. he was a more exciiting player in my point of view. not that im taking anything away from the guy. He probably wants to get his teammates more involved or something but just like you said, from the box scores, he doesnt seem to be doing better and he lost some of that rookie explosivness this year. that's how i based my assumption. but who knows....we're only less than 20 games into the season right? by the way guys, my expectation for tonight's game: Rockets 88 Blazers 98 Wallace: 20 pts, 12 rebs S Smith: 18 pts Mobley: 25 pts Francis: 15 pts, 8 rebs, 8 ass, 8 TO's Mo: 6 pts 2 rebs (GOD HE SUX!) ------------------ Blazing to the Title! Hey i agree w/ u on francis. i wish he would step up. itz not that he isnt as good. he just is holding something back. i wonder if he is conserving energy who knows. i wish he would step up and play dominant. mobley i dont agree w/ you on still. smith isnt a bad defender but he isnt superb. and mobley can take eddie jones a very good defender to the basket and score. the only advantage smith will have is a height advantage. offense is a diff. story, mobes D needs work and smith is a great shooter. the point im tryin to make is ur team isnt ripping every1 up like last year. the lakers might be better they might not be. both of our teams have lost games we should have one. but dont go saying ur team is going all the way so early in the season because there are plenty of good teams out there that are quite capable of beating you. houston split the series last year i look for them to do it again this year. ------------------ --TEX
Anyone ever said we were invincible? of course there are teams out there that could beat us. we just have to live up to our expectations and beat those teams. the Trail Blazers are capable of winnig anytime, anywhere, and against anyone! we WILL win this Championship, just watch us Rocket fans! i seriously doubt it, i say 3-1 ------------------ Blazing to the Title! also blazergal, where did you hear that davis can hold shaq? guess you did not watch finals last year. my prediction for the fist quarter-22-21...
Rockets 104 Blosers 78 Franchise & Co. will have something to prove tonight(always there best games). Also I think Wells will have a better game than Smith tonight. Seeing as how the bench will be in most of the 4th. ------------------ We need to do whatever we can to keep Cat and Coop playing ball in Houston...
Oh well.... What should i say....YOU LOST, Rocket Fans. AGAIN! i was close tro my prediction. Stoudamire OWNED Francis who couldn't do a thing to slow him down. even though Francis had a good game himself until he got fouled out. Wallace was CLUTCH! S.Smith wasn't. but neither was Mobley. well, not as much usual atleast. What's up with Shandon Anderson?!?!? 0-6?!?! 1 point?!?! DAMN! and Mo Taylor grabbed his usual 3 or 4 Boards. Way to go Rockets, better luck next time! TRAIL BLAZERS RULE! ------------------ Blazing to the Title!
we can still split the series. i guess you didnt realize that you won the first two last year and we won the last two.
you guys played a nice game but if we all played so poorly you shouldve blown us out. we got within one with a few min left. seems ur team cant hold a lead. just like last years playoffs. ------------------ --TEX
