Why do Jeremy's fans continue to paint him as some mental midget whose confidence is the most fragile thing in the world? Some "fans" you guys are...
Wasn't the For game where Lin was like 1/5 in 1st and end up with 31 pts? He can score in bunches, but he didn't get the minutes tonight to do it. It shows that Lin is a bench player with McHale now and his success tie to his minutes play. So no more of this crap about 6th man or new role please. Without that excuse then you have to wonder why Lin lost his starting job to Bev, and no it wasn't due to his play on the court.
I usually try to stay away from these Lin threads, because it goes no where fast... But I was in tears when I saw this.... T_Man
At this stage I want Lin to be traded so we can stop having this pointless debates. He's not a major piece of the team yet he's a major source of antagonism among fans. He played 17 minutes last night, and we're still talking about him?
Our starting lineup was killing it all game (until the choke). Lin couldn't get it going, so McHale sat him. McHale's first job isn't "to get Lin going", contrary to what the LOF think. Getting the lineup that gives us the best chance at winning is part of his job, and tonight it didn't include Lin. Most nights it probably will, but tonight it didn't. Get over it.
Lin has been trying to prove naysayers wrong all his life man. Not sure what you are talking about, he is continuing to do so now. He worked hard at all the things people complained about last year. Wanted to also add - he shot 0/5 in 17 minutes. His confidence would be lost not by not shooting well, but by being benched. The coach is telling him this: anytime you are playing bad - I will bench you. Hopefully this is just one game where the coach does this. How is he supposed to build mental toughness when he couldn't have an opportunity to do that with 17 minutes. He can't be Monta because the main scorers on Dallas are Dirk and Monta. Monta is a starter and is a 2nd - possibly sometimes first scoring option. On Rockets, he's 3rd/4th. Rockets are loaded with offence.
Honestly, Lin played badly and McHale's treatment of Lin wasnt unfair. McHale's line-ups and rotations however are a joke. You blind if you cant see that hes one of the worst coaches in the league.
thats the issue fans have, he was a non-factor because he never got a chance to be a factor (17 minutes is pathetic for your 2nd leading scorer) - as in 18ppg 5 assists 53% fg kind of factor that he's been all season. Lin is the only player in the league who has to play against the other team and his own coach.
he's gotta really stand up for himself at this point and say something along the lines of, play me or trade me...if there was a lin meme right now it would say "plays like an allstar......still gets benched"
Harden played 42 mins against a mediocre team this early in a season, and people still think McHale is a good coach. Let's just keep the trend going and see what we get for our playoffs. Rockets' won't make out of first round with McHale's rotation, period. It's not Lin vs McHale, it's how poorly players' minutes are managed by our coaching staff.
I think a coach should be more focused on winning the game than on giving a player his "props" during the game.
