Rats! That was my first thought, that it was down there ("down" from Austin), and I was wondering where in the hell they would put it. Looks massive! Well, on the off chance that I'm ever in KC in the summer, I know what will be on my agenda!

Damn that looks totally dangerous, and I really wanna try it. Would be cool if there was water completely around it so that once you inevitably fall off it wouldn't be as bad.

No room? NF just did a giant expansion in late 2012 and made the longest water "ride". It's pretty great.

 

I wouldn't ride that thing. Too much chit splatter in the bottom of the ride.

Would not ride, just because could you imagine the line? I'm not trying to wait 3 hours on some stairs so I can ride that crap for 25 seconds. Lol I'm more of a fast pass kinda guy!

 

Didn’t see a current thread on this so apologies if I missed it in reopening this old one. The co-owner of Schlitterbahn was arrested and charged today in the death of a 10-year-old boy for this ride on 2016—the ride was allegedly designed without professional engineers or adherence to safety standards, and multiple injuries prior to the death were apparently swept under the rug.

I’ve been a devotee of the park since going to the New Braunfels location with my family back in the 80s—in fact, I started a family tradition of my own taking my boys there starting four years ago. You’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger Schlitterbahn fan than me—and yet, if these allegations are proven out, I really don’t know if I can ever go back there again, at least under existing management. It’s beyond disturbing that in the quest for publicity and notoriety as “the tallest” that they would be so reckless as to let it get to the point that some family lost their child in what was supposed to be a fun trip together.

Just horrifying.
