Don't worry he got suspended for 1 game http://www.nba.com/2013/news/11/16/heat-chalmers-suspended/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpts <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/H39H1us9wvA?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/H39H1us9wvA?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Things can happen in the heat of the moment in basketball.. so I was willing to give Chalmers the benefit of the doubt... Until he decided to not step up to his mistake. He's denying he did anything wrong, even blaming Dirk for the incident.. What a scum. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Never in my career been a dirty player. It's clear that my arm was being held and that's wat caused me to hit dirk. Enough is enough man</p>— Mario Chalmers (@mchalmers15) <a href="https://twitter.com/mchalmers15/statuses/401789047427063808">November 16, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Chalmers was right, his arm was tangled with another player and he was simply trying to shake it off.
I wouldn't say that he's blaming Dirk. It wasn't Dirk holding his arm. His arm was being held, though. Dirk just happened to be in the path of his arm when he jerked it free.
Chalmers got the raw end of this - his arm was clearly tangled in the overhead shot & as he was pulling his arm out. The momentum carried over into Dirk.
I'm nowhere near a mario chalmers fan but I think I might believe him. From the replay you can see that he was being held. Just as he gets free Dirk's face is right there. When did he blame dirk? This just reminds me of Ron Artest killing James Harden 2 years ago.
I watched that replay and thought it was very dirty and blatant... but for some reason, I hadn't even considered that he was trying to free his arm from the previous screen. May make sense, but he had to be pretty oblivious to his surroundings. I don't mind the NBA cracking down on this because players need to be more careful when they get frustrated. LeBron's reaction when he watches the replay (0:56 mark) is pretty telling.
What is this, a video for ants? Too hard for me to tell much about the play when it's such bad video quality.
What video are you watching? The one OP posted was only 0:28 seconds. I want to see Lebrons reaction.
There's no good angle for it. But if you watch from 1:10 it looks like Chalmer actually hooked his arm around the Mav's player. Then their arms go behind them and I can't tell if it got switched around at any point before the punch. But, if it was Chalmers actually clamping his arm down on the Mavs player and then the Mavs player pulled his arm free it could have the same effect, just this time Chalmers would be the one who intitiated the grabbing.
Yea i know i sent like 20 mins looking for a better video but people still think its cool to upload video recorded from their iphone
his arm was held well before he hit dirk, chalmers took a 2 steps, his arm was already released then he swung
Looked like a flop to me. Can't believe he is suspended for that If there was no intention then it can't be dirty
Well, Chalmers did help Dirk get up right after the incident. I think it really was accidental, but even if it wasn't intentional, I can understand that the refs threw him out.
