He led both Philly and St. Louis to the Super Bowl, but only won it with the Rams.

So basically Kubiak and Dennison are the problem.

And Kubiak's explanation for putting in Schaub was for a higher possibility for a win. But come on now, what good is one more win gonna do to the team? Lower lottery pick. Less chances to test out Keenum.

While going for the win should be commended in pro sports, Kubiak's aims no longer align with the best interests of the team. He has to go.

Really he just needs to fire Kubiak, period.

    1) Keenum needs reps and Schaub is going to be gone next season. There is zero reason to play Schaub.

    2) The Texans can send the message that they are looking for a coach now. There is enough talent on this team to get a top coach. The Texans can be the next Chiefs.

    3) They can see what the current OC can do with Keenum.

    4) Kubiak probably just lost the locker room.

However I don't expect Grandpa Bob to be proactive. He'll probably hire a consultant to evaluate the situation, take too long to make a decision, and lose out on a good coach.

But you have to look at it from Kubiak's perspective. He hasn't been fired. He hasn't been told that he'll be fired. So he's operating under the assumption that he can still save his job. So he's going to pull out what stops he can to try to win. It's not about what good a win does the team, it's about what good a win might do for Kubiak.

My one fear of a complete overhaul is does McNair have an eye for talent?

You guys love making this shizznit personal, don't ya?

I remember a piece from a few years back (couldn't find it via google) that outlined that head coaches tend to be more worried about saving the jobs of their assistants than their own. Kubiak is gonna be fine; he'll get a another fine gig as HC or OC in college or the pros, should he want one. He is likely fighting for his assistants. Their coaching futures are far bleaker than his.

    Only won it once.

Shula and Parcells also took two different franchises to the Super Bowl, but they both only won it with one of them.

Nowadays, I don't see the "retired" coaches jumping back into the game with the same work effort and passion, esp after they've been out of it for more than 3 years.

Which is even a bigger problem, because he actually thinks putting Schaub back in gives the team a better chance to win. That is as big a reason to get rid of him as anything at this point. We have a team that the owner calls the most talented in franchise history. Super Bowl or bust... So when is bust actually going to mean something? Kubiak at his best has matched expectations with the 10 and 12 win seasons. You can't really convince me that another good coach couldn't have done the same thing or better. He has routinely failed to meet expectations. He has never exceeded expectations.

But there gets to be a point where you can't even continue to blame Kubiak, the blame needs to shift to McNair for failing to hold his coaches accountable. Marciano still having a job is unbelieveable. If Kubiak keeps his then it's on the owner from here on out for being incompetant in his management of the coaching staff.

I would be all in for Jon Gruden but that would mess up MNF's broadcast which is spectacular. :(

That is just selfish, for one person's benefit, the city of millions have to suffer. Not to mention Kubiak already had way more chances than he deserved, if there hasn't been anything to show that he can get it done, he won't ever get it done. Never.

    Not sure if srs?

Gruden is the Dick Vitale of NFL broadcasting. He's annoying as hell.

If Kubiak is capable of feeling shame, he needs to resign voluntarily. If not, it'll just be proof that he is the de facto GM and owner of this Texans franchise, not Smith and McNair respectively.

Look where that Jerry Jones kind of power has gotten the other NFL franchise in our great State of Texas.

At least Jerry Jones never named himself head coach and has a couple of Super Bowels (typo, but lol) from forever ago

I'm officially done defending Wade/Gary. I figured they would be capable enough to rally this team to at least a .500 record. But after yesterday, it's pretty clear that the entire house needs a good bleaching. Smith included. I feel bad for Keenum, because that likely means the end of his career as a Texan, but the Blood God must be satisfied.

    This x eleventybillion.

It's clear Kubiak's involvement is now detrimental to the future of this franchise. He should be relieved of his duties ASAP.

Keenum QB rating becomes worse every quarter and is pretty terrible in the 4th. I think that is why kubiak went with shaub.

I don't blame kubiak its on Bob.

This is because the pressure defenses have brought increases with each passing quarter, and the Texans are less and less equipped to deal with it. This is why you change the playcalling to relieve pressure. Our adjustments are pathetic, if completely non-existent. Kubiak's "adjustment" was to bring in Schaub, instead of change his playcalls. That should tell you everything about Kubiak's stubbornness and why he needs to go.
