Just suppose that in the past, within Rox walls, Hinkie and DM the GM have discussed their feelings about EVERY SINGLE NBA PLAYER + int'ls + HS and college 'kids'. Those two are well familiar with what the other thinks about Thad and all others.
PF... right? I admit to not being very familiar with his game; I've only seen him play live a handful of times and though he's never blown me away he looks like he could be good as the 4th or 5th best player on the court at a given time for a contender.
this board will fall in love with young if we were to get him. high energy, solid D, good offensive player. just bc you dont shoot 3s doesnt mean youre not good offensively.
What about Noel, and Hawes? What are they going to do with one of them. Is it worthy for them to give Young (their best player) for another center?
IDK? I think he's good as a SF / PF type of player. I like his game and think he would be a good addition to any team. I think he could be a starter on a contending team for sure. I don't think he is an upgrade over CP25 though. I also don't think he is going to give you the type of post defense and shot blocking that TJones appears to be capable of at the PF position. I don't think he represents fair return for Asik but he would make the Rockets better since Asik is currently not playing. He would probably come in as the best defender out of CP25, Casspi and Cisco as well as the best rebounder. It would be nice to be able to put him on someone like Durant. He can't stop KD but he would make him work harder than anyone else on the team to get his points. I would be disappointed if Thaddeus Young is all we could get for Omer but I would be happy to have him on the Rockets.
I think we as Rockets fans overvalue Asik. There are several factors that are reducing his value now: 1. He has asked for a trade twice now. So teams KNOW we HAVE to move him 2. The dude has NO offensive skills. He only scores off offensive rebs and dimes from penetrating guards. 3. Bad hands. Can't catch fast passes 4. Does not block shots or cover a lot of ground on help D He plays solid man to man D in the post and good help on PnR but I just don't think he requires a all-star or near all-star player in return for him. Not to mention his remaining salary owed. I think Morey will get us a player that will help but I don't think it will be a big deal. And after the trade, as usual, CFs will come on to say we got screwed in the deal cause you over value Asik.
Trade doesn't make any sense at all Jones could turn into Young this season unless Morey likes stunting players growth ...oh wait a minute that is why we are trading Asik
Could be some major b.s. here. He reads like a brother out to pull the wool over our eyes, even pausing enough to scorn Parsons and whomever likes his game. February 21? I don't see us waiting that long.
