I still can't believe this defense can look THIS bad, at home, against a rookie QB on a team that is a BAD team.
It is NOT the offensive line folks - they are sending more than we are blocking with, it is the play calling. We need to run slants, and screen passes to get them out of their blitz packages. DD
Guess no change in the second half suckitude. Looking forward to the draft. Get us a franchise QB. So much additional work needed and replacements.
Its more than that... sometimes there isn't going to be time, and you have to make them pay with a release valve. Keenum doesn't seem to be recognizing that thus far... its one of the hardest things for a rookie QB to get accustomed to.
No, its called a blitz which means you have no time to throw. which means you have to find the quick slant or screen pass.
reason Texans have problem with blitz is, we stack all recievers to one side, and its too crowed to get open before rush reaches QB. I dont know why they dont spread them out with a 2 WRs on each side, 2 slots, and that will give him more options to get a pass off
Not really, he has been pointing it out, but you have to CHECK down to account for it...and that is not something that Loseriak lets his QBs do. DD
maybe case isn't throwing to those guys running those routes.... trying to make something happen. Its a learning process, but the O-line didn't look this consistently porous prior to Keenum...
Keenum needs to learn to read the blitz. They need some screens sorry passes to stop the blitz Ofcourse that probably goes back to coaching.
That can happen when you have QB's trying to extend plays on the ground. QB's who cover up and get in the fetal position before contact can typically protect the ball better.
