Melo was in a zone so it was understandable. We won because refs did not give Melo the 4-point play in MSG.

 

Yeah, but they could have tried it for 1 or 2 possessions. Bargs was hot that game and if they scored, that would probably made Houston switch their scheme again or the very least give Melo a breather on offense.

Seriously though - I don't really see why he got so much run other than punishing Asik for being naughty. He had a nice pass to Parsons but that was one play out of long stretches of disappearing.

 

I still am in slight disbelief that Dwight got burned and stopped by Bargnani of all people.

 

Props to coach for trying to expand the rotation today, probably because it was a back to back.

 

Happy about this win.

1. Great to see JH play really well even though he is injured.
2. Does not surprised me Lin would not hit his 3's. Tired legs. Surprised me he put up 21 though. Those two dunks were nice. But I felt in the 4th, it was a little sloppy with him and harden. When Shump switched onto Lin, Lin got really uncomfortable. You could really tell.
3. Dwight - needs to play better D on centres that can shoot. Plus he was forcing it too much in the middle to prove a point, which did not work for him at all. Dwight needs to just chill out and play. he is trying so hard to prove everyone wrong.
4. Parsons - sick game. Great key passes to Tjones under the basket.
5. Garcia - don;t think he is sick anymore i'm a little surprised we didn't see more time for him to give him a few more 3s...

Overall I'm happy we won, but the TOs and D need work. The knicks took so many more shots than us. Wtf. Should be other way around...

What exactly did McHale learn if you don't mind me asking?

 

We blew them out because we were hitting 3-point shots. We have not had a game all year where we hit the 3 consistently.

 

I'm sure everyone has noticed that the starters are always a - in the +/- until Lin comes in from the bench...the end of the Beverley experiment ..a spot up shooter ..he is not..yoda

 

The ball movement wasn't to bad. The problem was no one was hitting the 3's.

And Howard missed some easy looks.

 

Glad to see the 1-2 pnr is back. Should've done that more in the closing quarter and let the guards take over.

 

Bargs is a solid one on one defender. What he sucks as is a help defender.


Anyway, really sad that Asik is probably on his way out and he has a spat with Mchale. To coach's defense, Asik did look awful last night. With Greg gone, we need another center, unless Dmo is ready to play some minutes off the bench.

 

Dwight just does not have that kind of basketball finesse and/or IQ. If he did, he'd have become a much polished offensive player after TEN whole years in the league plus 10 more games.

 

Agreed, thats our best set imo.

 

Terrance Jones dunked on somebody late in the game.

 

I was expecting Lin to not shoot well tonight from beyond the arc, the others shot ok though, so it all balanced out.

 

If it helps him make his FTs I hope he binge listens to all Metallica tracks from now on.
