No, it shouldn't be expected. Lol. And my launch PS3 lived a long and healthy life before it put a gun to its head.
Someone already put a gun to the PS4's head: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/5dvWGY2bAd0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Technically it should. Like I mentioned...GameStop and presumably the console manufacturers are expecting a 10-15% failure rate, so we should as well.
10%-15% seems kind of high, even for launch systems. Maybe a worst case scenario (expect 2%-5%, but have 2x-3x that in stock).
I'm just saying that a 10%-15% failure rate seems kind of high. If you know 10 people who get PS4s, 1-2 of them would have broken systems? That seems like a worst case scenario to me, even for launch systems (keep in mind that these could still break 6-9 months from now too). I was just saying that maybe they'll keep 10%-15% in stock JUST IN CASE, but I'm not sure they're expecting actual failure rates to hit that at launch.
What was the failure rate for xbox 360? Had to be pretty high. I remember my 360 got red ring of death on the first day I played it. Almost everyone I knew that had a 360 had a RROD. Can't imagine any xbox 360 from launch day has made it through 8 years without RROD.
So where can i get it at midnight with no pre order? Any chance of the target next to the galleria having it? Is target even doing midnight release?
Yeah, the number is high. He may have said something different and I'm misquoting him. He also could have said that and it just been a stupid number. Either way point being, I think the failures that have been happening are typical launch failures. We'll know soon enough.
Target is opening at 8 on Friday; no midnight release. I think you should be fine getting to a Best Buy around 10 as they start processing orders at 10, but don't give out the system until midnight. That is what I plan on doing anyway.
I would think if you don't have a preorder you need to be a little earlier than 2 hours ahead. I'm thinking 3-4.
