All his life huh? In Ivy League? Was he a good scorer or closer? There is a difference to me. Some guys can score a lot of points in a uptempo system, but when the game slows down and the D locks in, they have trouble scoring.

Look, his run at NY two years ago was fantastic. He was set free by that system and circumstance and scored a lot of points. He will have his games, like tonight, but he is not 'that dude'. I hope he can be a great 6th man for us.

Because Beverley held his own against Wroten and limited him to 35% shooting. Is it a mismatch when Howard had to guard Yao? Was it a mismatch when Rodman guarded Shawn Kemp?

It is only a mismatch if the size difference effects the performance. Wroten's size didn't keep Beverley from limiting Wroten, hence there was no mismatch.

You seem to think Anderson's size effected Lin's defensive performance.

Lin isn't superman. If a guy gets hot he gets hot. So many of us have said that Lin needs to cut down on turnovers. But he played his heart out and shot amazingly from 3 point tonight. He had 12 assists. He had effort on defense. His counterpart did not stop him and had 0 assists. So going on about Lin of all players in this game does not make a lot of sense. JA played a great game against his old team and made tough shots. Give him credit for that.

Exactly. T Jones can switch onto SFs and defend pretty well. Asik gets burned and our D collapses. I'm liking the new rotation.

Heh, funny how certain players gets a pass from not giving a damn about defense since they ~carry the team offensively, but when Jeremy does the same, carries the team, and actually gives EFFORT to defend a 6'6" guy he gets crapped on.
You'd think he was a max player or something with the expectations ;)

James Anderson is not a good player. He should not have scored 36 points in any game.

Uhh do you read the GARM? Harden's defense is blasted consistently, along with his turnovers.

That's no surprise. Lin has always been more accountable and realistic than some of his fans seem capable of.

I feel sick after watching that game.

Another game, another choke job in the 4th. Oh, and the three by Anderson to send the game to OT... I mean, who didn't see that coming?! I swear teams are shooting close to 100% against Houston in the closing seconds of the 4th this season. Still, Houston had a chance to win with 6.6 seconds left, but instead of setting up red-hot Lin for a shot, ice-cold Parsons takes a long range two with Davies right in his face... smh

I don't blame the loss on the officiating, but it looked pretty freakin bad this evening from what I saw; it could be my bias, but I thought they called it tight on one end of the court and loose on the other end, which is just infuriating since all you really want out of the refs is consistency.

Now, Is it me or has the entire team gone into a free-throw shooting slump since the season started? I expect it from DH & Asik, but not from our shooters. Unfortunately, this slump has also spread to 3pt shooting. Granted, Garcia was hit on the elbow on that three at the end of the first OT, but he, along with Casspi, Harden, & Parsons just don't seem to be able to hit the three ball with any consistency... It's especially obvious that Parsons has no confidence in his shot with the way he hesitates and passes up open three's the past few games.

A really tough loss to take after a phenomenal performance by Lin and some pretty solid play by Howard and Jones. I totally expect that we are going to see a lot more Jones in the near future, which I think is a very good thing.

No time to dwell on the loss, though... Knicks up next!

Wasn't Lin's fault we lost. Probably would have been a blowout if he was benched.

I can only imagine AB guarding Anderson...

We could use a tall athletic wing.

Wish you all would just stop trying to pin the loss on any one player.

Ok we are just going around in circles and you don't seem to understand my point. I don't think Lin guarding the bigger stronger Anderson helped his defensive performance. And nobody was good defensively tonight and saying Bev limited him to 35% shooting is disingenuous. Wroten getting his first NBA start (a big factor probably for his poor shooting) still had a triple double. Not so sure how that is holding your own against Wroten considering how highly lauded Bev is for his D.
    But wtv agree to disagree.

No.... Unfortunately a big no to your last question. Obviously we do not know how to use Asik now......

Last year, we have a worse defense. We ranked 28th on points given, 22 on opponents AST/TO ratio and 27 on opp total rebounds given...

It is just that we are now capable of doing a better defense inside that it reflects our

You do realize that there is such a thing as team defense right?

There were some positives in this game folks so pls dont get too hung up on this loss...

    1) JLin played great with his 2nd consecutive 30+ point game. His legit 3pt scorer this season and that will definately be a positive for this team going forward. I really believe his his TO's will go down once the chemistry builds. He will need to make conscious effort too to not take too many risky plays at certain times.

    2) TJones played well. Although he still seems lacking a bit on more match experience, I see a great potential in him to be a good solid PF for us going forward. We need to cultivate him since I can see his got a great potential going forward.

    3) Dwight Howard knocked some clutch free throws tonight and some important blocks and defensive rebounds. Once he and TJones build chemistry, I have a feeling they will be a force going forward.

    4) Ball movement....it was back! Our offense looked really good tonight (except the 4th qtr). If we can keep this up and once Harden comes back with the same philosophy of passing the ball then our offense is going to get better going forward.

    5) No more TT! That is a big plus because at least now the team can settle on a direction which they can build on going forward.

    6) I really feel that Harden and Lin can be an awesome backcourt this season. Both can pass, drive and shoot well. The main improvement is Lin's 3's...they will be so hard to guard since both can drive and shoot from the distance. I really think Lin should start to continue to build Harden and Lin's chemistry on the court.

    7) We have a record of 4 wins and 3 losses. With the TT experiment, our guys not hitting there 3's (apart from Lin) plus our lack of permiter defense...we can only get better from here.

Everyone needs to calm down. They're still trying to figure it out, off the court chemistry is there but injuries, trying to force two players that absolutely don't compliment each other play together (Asik, Howard), and inexperience have played major parts this season. I've seen some amazing things so far this year (along with bad) that have me thinking this team down the line can do some damage in the playoffs.
