Why not? Some of " others" may not understand simple Chinese as in the article.

Sun12, I cann't say all your points are incorrect. What I want point out here is that Yao never express unhappiness or disapointment about training with NT in China.

I'm sorry but do you mention Moses Malone in every single Yao related thread? You're as bad as the guys who used to post ten times a day calling for Dream to come mentor Yao. Do you have OCD?

Well, you are not really a true fan. We already know that. Now you just confirm our suspicion. haha

As a true fan, we do care. I think the Rox management should care as well.

Now this is my prediction for Yao's stats next season:

15-16 PPG (for without rookie wall)
    8-9 RPG

Is that enough to build a team around? I say NO.

As I have already said, we will see it by ourself 6 months from now.
What is the point of repeating it over and over on so many threads.

Actually, training at "University of Houston" is not bad and may be as good as Harvard's training if the student know what he is doing and what is his goal while training. ;)
Training at Harvard does not garantee success. It only improves the chance of success. ;)

I believe that Chinese NT wants Yao to success as much as if not more than everyone.
    He will be OK.

Codell:- Your imagination is now causing you post something that is just not true. It has only been during the latter part of the season that I brought up that subject!!I was spured on by the offer of Moses Malone to help out! He also saw a need for Yao Ming to get Big Man Coaching!
However I did rant and rave about Mobley and Francis since before the pre season and most of the fans have since come arround to my way of thinking.
Most Fans also see a need for an overhaul of the Rockets Coaching Staff! :p

Ops, my mistake. I do not realize the Chinese NT and Asian teams are the best of the best in the world. hmmm, I just could not remember any players on their teams. Since you are so much familar with them, do you mind telling us what their names are ?

By the way, who's the best player on that Korea team? or any players on the Japanese team? mind telling us?

I do not understand why some people here still think highly of the CBA, the Chinese NT and its training.

Without CBA, the NT, Yao would play the summer league, in the training camp, in all pre-season games LAST YEAR! and Rox would be in the playoff this year!

    sun12,

Wang Zhi Zhi had the same thought process as you. He blamed his weaknesses on not getting the proper training. So he stayed the whole summer in the US training with NBA players. And it did jack sh*t for him. He's just as crappy now as he ever was.

Sure, he is just a so-so player. But without the summer camp, Clippers won't even sign Wang for $2mil/year.

How much would he get without the summer camp??? minimum contract for 300k with Mavs.

I am sure he is happy with the result from the summer camp.

Maybe Wang is smarter than some "dumb" people here.

With Amare making the game-tying shot at the end of regulation in game 1 against the Spurs, it is not hard to see how much better Amare might become after summer camp last year, playoff this year and summer camp this year. Just see how much Yao has missed.

Also remember Eddie Griffin spent all of last summer working with NBA trainers. He played in all of the summer league games and pretty much dominated. It didn't do squat to his game either. You totally overrate NBA trainers. Great players make themselves great, not the trainers.

You think Jordan and Kobe became great by playing in summer league games? Hell no.

Another post that shows that you do not know much about training. Do you know how much Jordan's personal trainer helped him? As a matter of fact, his personal trainer is so good with players, Jordan actually suggested Barkeley hire him as well. But we know Barkeley is a lazy fat ass.

By the way, Darko will hire him as his trainer once he comes to the states.

It is well-known Jordan as the all-time great has a lot to do with his rigorous off-season training.

A trainer can only do so much to help. They're not going to be the deciding factor on whether a player is great or not. It was up to Jordan to take the 100s of jumpers every day, work on his foot-work, and condition his body. Just as it is up to Yao to hit the weights, and work on his game. The Rockets trainer will give Yao instructions on what he needs to do. That's all he needs.

You know, I always wonder with so many African Americans playing in the NBA, why can't the real Africans teams from countries in Africa win the Olympics or World Championships? You might say what about Olajuwon, well, Olajuwon was not good until he came to the States.

    So what happens here?

African Americans have more drive than the Africans living in Africa? or maybe it is because of the nutrition, the best training facility, the coaching and the competitive environment?
