Come on, guys. I agree with whoever said, "They always say, that's why white boys don't understand the blacks."

Until now I thought Stevie grew up in Silver Spring and went to Blair HS. That's nothing like the ghetto. I don't know. But I do know, if he did grow up in a tough neighborhood, I completely understand him. I grew up in a real bad part of DC, and the immense pressure to do drugs, have sex, steal, join gangs, etc. is unbelievable.

When I moved to Katy my senior year in high school I couldn't believe it. Everybody was white, most were FFA hicks, and it seemed like everyone was a goody-goody. Well what I'm sayin is just because Steve is a public figure doesn't mean he can change his past. And it still guides him today. If he still has sex with a million women, talk about steal tactics used as a kid, etc. that's understandable. But some people grow up and don't flow that way. Yea, he may be the laughing-stock of the NBA, but I respect AC Green. He's everything I wish I still was.

im beginning to get irritated at the fact that everyone in these forums is always on steves back, the guy does what he can to help the team, ha where the hell would the rocks be if he just decided to quit basketball in the middle of a season? i think this topic was started to have something to talk about since the season is over, "hey the seasons over, yay its a good time to start stevie bashing". People hes a normal person just like everysingle one of you, everyone has done dumb **** in there lives and wish they wouldnt have.

I highly doubt a 10 year old kid is going to sit down and read Stuff magazine.

I agree. Judging from the interview, it does not seem like he really thinks what he did was wrong.

bragging? Oh man, people just can't have fun anymore while being interviewed for a magazine can they? I really really doubt Steve thinks shoplifting is the right thing to do. Every year throughout the NBA season he would go out to HISD schools and talk to kids about how important their education is and stuff like that. IMHO, I think he's a great guy.

    oh for the love of....

Listen, Steve wasn't bragging and he wasn't 'not showing remorse.' He was candidly discussing an honest f**k-up as kid who grew up on the streets.

You can discuss things you regret candidly rather easily. Some of you really need to get off your high horse.

Steve isn't perfect....leave him the hell alone about something that happened when he was a kid.

One of our players gets caught with some dope and another admits to seatling candy as a kid. Christ you'd think we turned into the Blazers or something. I'd hate to see how some of you would handle real problems like rape and jail time.
