No, he wouldn't start on any of those teams, sorry you are delusional.

As far as I understand, although Asik and Lin would be owed $15 million in their last year; the salary cap hit would only be $8 mill.

Beverley only bright spot for tonight. Lin was a headless chook and Harden needs to sit until hes healthy.

    Headless chook!

You sound like an Aussie mate.

Lin wasn't that bad. He had 2 TOs at the end of the 3rd (one was a kick ball).
He was mainly responsible from bringing us back from the ditch in the 1st Q and I bet he's probably got one of the highest +/- or PER ratings on the team for the game.

Selective memory I reckon. Just like everyone judged Lin on 2 injured playoff games last year when he was on fire since the All Star break.

Anyways, I'm a huge Bev fan so this game was much easier to swallow than the Laker's one.

I agree about Harden. He needs to sit Mondays game out because after that we can rest him for the roadtrip starting Wednesday. That will give him plenty of rest. He is doing himself more damage and even the team more damage as well running out there with no legs.

wow Harden gets a free pass. isn;t it the 2nd time he got burned by JJ? imho he;s just pretendin to be injured cuz he's so embarrassed by being JJ's biatch twice.

he's the star player of this team right? he should be accountable for every loss. no freakin excuses. he has no D. plays hero ball. he';s the one whos hurting the team. plus he's a pathetic leader.

    Harden is exposed.

What was said at CF last season: Lin needs to shoot 40% to be a legitimate player with harden.
What has happened: Lin is shooting at that numer now.
What is said now at CF: he is better coming off the bench because his offense can provide a really good spark for the team.

What was said last season at CF: Lin's defense sucks.
What has happened: Lin s defensive rating is better than the starting PG.
What is said now at CF: a) small sample! b) eye test does not lie, stats sucks!

What was said last season: Lin is paid too much for his performance.
What happened: Lin is giving more than above average starting PG performance.
What is said now: Lin is paid too much! as a bench player!

Look. Both Lin and Harden was reported injury before the game and Harden clearly needs to be out of this game but was played 37 minutes.

No body is giving Harden a free pass. Damn near everybody on this board been giving it to Harden because of his p*** poor defense dating back to last season.

If he's hurt. Leave him at home for the road trip so he can fully recover. Not like the team needs him the way he's been playing. Lin can more than easily pick up the slack.

I don't think Lin has a future on the rox. I would really love to buy into the fit explanation but I have my doubts about that. First we have never heard anything come from the coaches as to the real reason lin got benched. Second if fit was such a big deal, why are we starting asik who's now proving to be an even worst fit next to Dwight?

I agree. I think Lin and Asik are gone. The sooner the better. But I think we will really miss them, they both play with heart which is more than I can say for our so called superstars.

The benefit that Lin coming off from bench wasn't there.

1)Harden clearly play around 40+ minutes. He plays 37 minutes even when he plays with injury

2)The ball doesn't seems to be on Lin's hand when he coming off from bench. Beverley has the ball and Lin is a Shooting Guard keeps driving to the rim like crazy.

I start to think the main propose is the marginalize Lin. Nothing else. Look, right now, a bench PG calls a play and all the starters don't want to follow.

Good post. The narrative here is flawed. It's Harden and Howard are your superstars, everyone else are role players so they should lead the team to the promise land and everyone else should know their place and just provide the ball to them and play defense. I think that's wrong. They are all role players, and there are leaders and guys that may excel at their roles more than others. You don't neglect bringing out the potential in anyone because you have so-called "superstar" players. You need contributions from the whole team. That's why you have a team regardless of who the standouts are. One guy doing too much results in poor team chemistry in basketball. Lin should play point guard, that's his approach and mentality and the coaches should say when he's on the floor, he has to run the show X amount of time. Asik has to have his offensive game development worked on as well for when Howard is in foul trouble and just to have another option. I'm not impressed with this coaching staff. Great coaches utilize their assets, not put them in roles and positions where they don't belong. You don't need trades on this team, you need to use the players correctly and more of them. What's with the 8 man roster?

Lin was pretty bad man. Honestly I'd credit McHale going away from the TT lineup (we went on a 17-4 run as soon as he took Asik out) for our comeback than Lin making a couple baskets.

No, he didn't get a free pass. And no, he wasn't guarding JJ Redick, so your second point doesn't make sense. Harden's defense was actually decent tonight, he was just too gimpy to do anything offensively.

Yes, he's exposed as the best SG in the league.
